Texas A&M boosters seem to have a lot of cash for their recruiting classes
Texas A&M head football coach Jimbo Fisher defended his recruiting tactics earlier this year. Alabama head coach Nick Saban had hinted that Fisher received prized blue-chip players because of Texas A&M boosters giving money to players through the NIL.
Video that popped up on Thursday seemed to undo all the grandstanding Fisher gave at his ridiculous press conference. The video shows a Texas A&M recruiter mentioning the cash they could get from becoming an Aggie.
“Y’all getting a lot of money from the people behind these suites if you decide to come play here”

OOOF. That’s one video Fisher wishes Texas A&M could have back…
Fisher defended Texas A&M integrity to the death in press conference
In one of the most bizarre press conferences/rants. Fisher attacked Saban and accused Saban of having skeletons in his closet of past nefarious behavior according to the NCAA rulebook.
Joey Blackwell of Sports Illustrated wrote about the controversy when it happened:
Back in May at an event promoting the 2022 World Games in Birmingham, Saban noted that he believed Fisher and the Aggies bought their entire recruiting class by utilizing NIL collectives. Fisher responded the following day in an impromptu press conference, condemning Saban and his comments.
“Some people think they’re God,” Fisher said back on May 19. “Go dig into how God did his deal. You may find out about a guy a lot of things you don’t want to know.
“We build him up to be the czar of football. Go dig into his past or anybody that’s ever coached with him. You’ll find out anything you want to find out about what he does and how he does it.”
It appears as if Saban was on to something. NIL money is as good a reason as any for Texas A&M to land the number one recruiting class in 2022. We’ll see how well that class does under this scrutiny.
