Just a week ago, the Vanderbilt Commodores upset the Alabama Crimson Tide 40-35 at home. On Saturday, Vanderbilt faced the Kentucky Wildcats on the road and many wondered what Vanderbilt would do for an encore.
The Commodores defeated the Wildcats on the road by a final score of 20-13. With the victory, Vanderbilt improved to 4-2 in the college football season. Many wondered if they were going to be ranked in the Top 25 or not in college football this week.
The Vanderbilt Commodores Are Not Ranked In the Top 25 This Week
The Vanderbilt Commodores are not ranked in the AP Poll Top 25 for this week. This came as a major surprise to a lot of people in the college football world. The SMU Mustangs are ranked 21, the Illinois Fighting Illini are ranked 22, Army is ranked 23, the Michigan Wolverines are ranked 24, and Navy is ranked 25.
A lot of people did not like the fact that Michigan is still ranked in here and also Illinois, but they liked that the Army and Navy were ranked in the Top 25. The Vanderbilt Commodores will have some more work to do to get into the Top 25.

Bama doesn’t drop? Vandy unranked?
These people don’t know ball
Other than Army and Navy being ranked but Michigan shouldn’t be— Kyle Moose (@SwoleHalo) October 13, 2024
Vanderbilt will face Ball State at home next Saturday night before they face the #1 Texas Longhorns at home the week after. Texas will face the Georgia Bulldogs at home next weekend. A couple of weeks ago, the Alabama Crimson Tide beat Georgia at home and then lost to the Commodores on the road the following week. Becareful, if you are the Texas Longhorns.
However, the Vanderbilt Commodores need to beat Ball State first before we talk about them being a Top 25 team. If that doesn’t happen, then they probably don’t deserve to be a Top 25 team in the nation to begin with.
