Utah Utes enters this season as reigning Pac-12 Champions after finishing 10-4 last season. The Utes grasped their first ever PAC-12 championship and look to not slow down. Alongside Oregon, Utah have been dominating the conference over the past four season. With all the news in the Southern California area, Utah looks to make headlines on the field.

Kyle Whittingham returns for his 18th season as head coach and will be complemented by a load of talent and returning players. Whittingham as most would say has been loyal to Utah and Utes nation. The long tenured HC after winning his first PAC-12 title, looks to have the Utes back in contention.
Utes Destined To Repeat?
It starts with QB Cameron Rising who is back for another season after managing the troops to a Pac-12 Championship. Rising will have a full season under his belt after starting the last 11 games last year. The offensive line returns three starters and should give Rising plenty of time to function.
Returning from the backfield will be Tavion Thomas and Micah Bernard who did an exceptional job with the load last season. 71% of the offensive production returns for the Utes which ranks 50th in the nation.
The defense was remarkably impressive last season and are set-up for comparable success in 2022. Three of the four losses the Utes allowed more than 30 points. If the Utes want to repeat as PAC-12 champions or clinch a CFP birth, the defense will need to buckle down.

The Utes win total is set at 8.5 this season, one less than they had last year. Their schedule is no cake walk, but this is a good football team that is competent of covering. Opening at Florida is a challenging game, but their other two non-conference games against Southern Utah and San Diego State should be wins.
Arizona and Colorado are both on the schedule which is always a plus. If they can take one against Oregon, USC, or UCLA they should be in outstanding position to cover. Assuming no major obstacles along the way, best bet on the board for Utah is over 8.5 wins (-130).
Pick: Over 8.5 wins
