Just recently, Miller Moss had a big game for the USC Trojans as the quarterback led his team to a big win against LSU. His big performance, though, has already been predicted years ago by former NFL star Robert Griffin III.
Moss has been named the Big Ten Offensive Player of the Week following a standout performance in the Trojans’ 27-20 victory over No. 13 LSU at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas. This recognition marks a significant achievement, as it is the first official Big Ten honor for a USC football player.
In an exciting matchup, Moss completed 27 of 36 passes for a career-high 378 yards and one touchdown. His performance was pivotal, especially as he became the first Trojan starting quarterback to secure back-to-back wins over ranked opponents since 1971. This victory also marked USC’s first come-from-behind win in the fourth quarter against an AP-ranked team since their 2017 Rose Bowl triumph.
Moss showcased his ability to distribute the ball effectively, connecting with ten different receivers, six of whom surpassed 45 receiving yards. With just under two minutes remaining and the score tied, he orchestrated an impressive eight-play, 75-yard drive that concluded with a touchdown run by Woody Marks, sealing the game just eight seconds before the final whistle. Currently, Moss ranks ninth nationally in passing yards per game and completions per game, leading the Big Ten in total offense.
Former NFL Star Robert Griffin III Reveals His Take About USC Trojans Quarterback Miller Moss
After Moss’ big game for the Trojans, various personalities gave their take on the young quarterback. Among those individuals was former NFL star Robert Griffin III, as seen in a tweet he posted on his official X account.
“3 years ago I called USC’s spring game and there was a QB who was absolutely balling out. His name was Miller Moss. I called him M&M because he lived what it meant to lose yourself in the music. Tonight was his moment. He owned it. He got his shot and now he won’t ever let it go,” Griffin tweeted.
Moss, a redshirt junior at USC, has persevered through coaching changes and player transfers to secure his starting role. After a standout performance in the Holiday Bowl, he capitalized on his opportunity by throwing six touchdowns in a 42-28 victory over Louisville, completing 23 of 33 passes for 372 yards.
With Moss making such an impact this early into the season, there’s a good chance he’s going to go far with the Trojans. And if Griffin is to be believed, sky will be the limit for him.
