Gridiron Heroics partners with Draft Scout to give each school’s Top 5 NFL Draft prospects in the Pac 12. Welcome to a list of the USC Top 5 NFL Draft prospects for 2023, as seen by Draft Scout.
Each week brings us closer and closer to one of the most anticipated days on the sports calendar — the NFL Draft. This year’s draft will be held in Kansas City, Mo. from April 27-29. Starting today? We take a look at the USC seniors, the class of 2023. Since we don’t know yet which underclassmen will declare? We’ll reconfigure the rankings when that it all official, so be sure to revisit us.
Our PAC12 Draft prospect series will run soon and will run for the next week, with three schools running per day in alphabetical order. A master conference list of the Big 12’s Top 20 NFL draft prospects will wrap things up afterwards. Please check the team links below frequently so you can check out the other schools’ top prospects as the week progresses.

So, we all know that not every team in the country has five surefire draft picks on it. Some programs do, especially in some of the more elite conferences, but the vast majority don’t have that many top-flight prospects. But, we also know that the definition “top-flight” doesn’t always pan out, and at the same time that strong undrafted free agent everybody forgot? He ends up making an NFL and flourishing.
Below is a look at the USC Top 5 Draft Prospects, and how they project in the eyes of Draft Scout. Again, for now, we’ll go strictly with seniors (c/o 2023), as no underclassmen have been allowed to officially clear the declaration deadline yet, though when they do? We’ll update the lists below.

USC TOP 5 NFL DRAFT PROSPECTS
NO. 1 PROSPECT
NAME: Travis Dye (RB.)
DRAFTSCOUT PROJECTION: 3-4 round
THE TRUTH:
Travis Dye was USC’s starting running back before going down with a knee injury against Colorado. He is projected to go in the third or fourth round. There’s no doubt in my mind that he would’ve been projected higher if he didn’t suffer a knee injury in November. Teams get nervous when running backs have any leg injuries because the risk of them being the same after isn’t good. He definitely could be a NFL back if he can stay healthy.
NO. 2 PROSPECT
NAME: Andrew Vorhees (OG.)
DRAFTSCOUT PROJECTION: 4-5 round
THE TRUTH:
Andrew Vorhees plays guard but he has played multiple positions on USC’s offensive line. Vorhees big 6’6 and 325 pound frame is perfect to play in the NFL. He also is technically sound and plays smart. They project him going in the fourth or fifth round, but I could see him being picked in the late second to third round. He’s capable of starting immediately and having success.
NO. 3 PROSPECT
NAME: Shane Lee(ILB.)
DRAFTSCOUT PROJECTION: 5 round
THE TRUTH:
Shane Lee is a fast linebacker who is best dropping back in coverage or stopping the run. Lee is the third USC Top 5 NFL draft prospects as of right now. He’s fast enough to cover across the middle and hits hard and wraps up tackling runners in open field. Lee isn’t good at pass rush pressure off the edge. His best position is inside linebacker dropping in coverage. I could see him getting picked up in the fourth to fifth round and he’s projected to go in the fifth.

NO. 4 PROSPECT
NAME: Terrell Bynum (WR.)
DRAFTSCOUT PROJECTION: 7 round, HPFA
THE TRUTH:
Terrell Bynum is projected to be a seventh round draft pick or a high priority free agent. He caught pass
NO. 5 PROSPECT
NAME: Brett Neilon (C.)
DRAFTSCOUT PROJECTION: 7 round, HPFA
THE TRUTH:
Brett Neilon is projected to be be a seventh round draft pick or a high priority free agent. He plays at center and has held the middle of USC’s offensive line this season.
This has been USC Top 5 NFL draft prospects for seniors only. Check back as we will update this list as underclassmen choose to enter the draft.
