A Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver had surgery
The Kansas City Chiefs battled serious injury problems to win Super Bowl LVII. Quarterback Patrick Mahomes struggled through a high-ankle sprain. Tight end Travis Kelce had back issues in the AFC Championship Game. Wide receiver JuJu Smith-Schuster had a knee injury. The Chiefs lost wide receiver Mecole Hardman to injured reserve during Super Bowl week. He recently had surgery.

Hardman was injured in Week 9 when he suffered a pelvis injury. Hardman had tried to “push” his recovery so he could play in the playoffs. But that only seemed to aggravate the injury, and he could not play in the postseason.
According to Tom Pelissero with the NFL Network, Hardman’s groin repair surgery was successful. Hardman has surgery in Philadelphia, the same city that is heartbroken over his team’s victory over the Eagles in the Super Bowl
#Chiefs WR Mecole Hardman had successful groin repair surgery with Dr. William Meyers in Philadelphia this morning, per source. It cleared up the issue he was dealing with this past season. An intriguing free agent-to-be. pic.twitter.com/4Ar3wtAiz8

Hardman is a former second-round pick in the 2019 draft. The All-Pro athlete will be a free agent this offseason. It’s unclear if the Chiefs plan to extend his contract for the 2023 season. If healthy, Hardman can be a solid contributor on offense.
