The Ohio State Buckeyes have not won the National Title since the 2014 season under Urban Meyer as head coach. Ohio State had one loss entering Saturday against the Michigan Wolverines. They received a stunning loss at home against the Wolverines on Saturday and the final score was 13-10.
With the loss, the Buckeyes dropped to 10-2 on the season and will not be in the BIG10 title game. Ohio State fans were not thrilled at all with head coach Ryan Day after the game. When the game was over, Michigan players tried planting a flag at the 50-yard line, but there was a major brawl that broke out and it was embarrassing on all levels.
College Football Analyst Thinks That the Ohio State Buckeyes Can Not Bring Back Ryan Day As Head Coach Next Season
CBS Sports college football analyst Aaron Taylor talked about the Michigan and Ohio State game after it concluded. A lot of people had major reactions to the stunning loss for the Buckeyes this weekend at home against the Wolverines.
Taylor said about the loss for the Buckeyes:
“I just don’t see how Ohio State can keep Ryan Day, unless they win the National Championship.”
It feels as if the writing is on the wall with Day as head coach for this football program. In 76 games with the program, he has a 66-10 record, but four of those losses are against the Michigan Wolverines. Ryan Day has been the head coach of this program for seven seasons.
Unless they win it all, someone else will probably be coaching them next season. The Ohio State Buckeyes and Ryan Day might need a fresh start. Ohio State would have been playing the Oregon Ducks in the BIG10 title game had they beat Michigan, but the Penn State Nittany Lions will be in the BIG10 title game instead.

66-10 $10 million a year with incentives?
Overpaid, yeah, but he wins. Should he be fired? Ridiculous.
Should he return 50% of his salary for not beating his rival? Probably.
That would be $20 million that could be donated to Ohioans.

He is something like 47 – 1 against the rest of the conference. He isn’t getting fired…but he better win next year.

The system rewards teams that make quick employment decisions. They are better off firing him now rather than after he loses a playoff game. Sooner he is gone, sooner they have a replacement. Then can work on their roster.

The next time that the Ohio State Buckeyes play, they will most likely be heading on the road for a college football playoffs game. If they were to lose in the first round, it almost feels inevitable for them to move on from Ryan Day as head coach.
