The New York Giants are making roster cuts to get to 53 players by the Tuesday roster deadline. With that being said, there have been questions about whether or not quarterback Tommy Devito was going to make the roster.
Well, Mike Garafolo of NFL Network reported on Twitter on Tuesday morning,
“The #Giants are waiving QB Tommy DeVito, sources tell me and
. He was the subject of some trade conversations in recent days, so he’s a player to watch for a claim tomorrow.”
There is no doubt that he could be claimed by some teams who need quarterbacks. Two potential teams to watch out for will be the New York Jets and the New Orleans Saints. If DeVito does not get claimed, is there a chance that he can wind up back on the Giants practice squad?

DeVito played well in the preseason for the Giants and some fans thought his performance was worth the team keeping four quarterbacks on the roster, but this franchise thought otherwise. DeVito has been with this team for a couple of years. With him being placed on waivers, some fans were stunned and reacted on social media:

The Giants quarterback room for the 2025 season is totally different now with Jameis Winston, rookie Jaxson Dart, and Russell Wilson. In 2024, it was DeVito, Daniel Jones, Drew Lock, and Tim Boyle. New York’s quarterback room has been upgraded big time, but another team that could potentially claim Devito off of waivers is the Tampa Bay Buccaneers because they just released quarterback Kyle Trask.
