UCF has its fair share of history when it comes to recruiting twins. Current NFL players Shaquem and Shaquill Griffin were an unforgettable duo for the Knights. Twin linebackers Andrew and Michael Harris announced they are committing to the University of Central Florida.

Moving from Jamaica to Florida, the twins will remain in their home state to play football. The Harris brothers wanted to play college ball together. If any college made an offer, it was to the both of them. They chose UCF over Michigan State, Penn State, and Maryland.

The Harris twins become the third and fourth in-state commitments, joining QB Dylan Rizk and DE Kaven Call.

“The reason why we committed to UCF is because we can see ourselves playing for Coach Williams and Coach Ingram and just making UCF a better program. I feel like learning from Coach T-Will can make not only a better linebacker, but also a better person. He can definitely teach us a lot with him coming from Auburn. I think he can get us to the league.”

A Look at UCF’s New Brotherly Duo

Andrew and Michael Harris moved to Altamonte Springs and made a name for themselves as multi-sport athletes at Lake Brantley high school. Both competed in track and field and received offers from the Naval Academy. They played football for the first time in their sophomore year of high school. It took the twins two years of playing experience to receive a college scholarship for football.

Andrew Harris finished his junior year with 103 total tackles, 14 tackles for loss, and three sacks. Michael Harris compiled 70 total tackles, 10 tackles for loss, four sacks, and two forced fumbles.

ESPN ranks Andrew Harris No. 206 in their Class of 2023 list. He received an 82 court grade and places sixth in the nation among all linebackers.

Michael Harris comes in at No. 289 on ESPN’s Top 300 and is the ninth-best LB in the country. He earned an 81 scout grade.

    In Conclusion

If the four-star twins remain committed to UCF and sign, they will become the Knights’ second and third highest defensive signees in their program’s history. The Harris brothers are the first four-star athletes to join UCF’s Class of 2023 recruiting cycle. The Knights total six commits.

The Knights boost to No.58 on 247Sports’ national recruiting list. UCF finished the 2021-22 season with a 9-4 record and defeated the Florida Gators in the Gasparilla Bowl.
