Before making his way to Hard Rock Stadium in Miami for his first game of the 2024 regular season, Miami Dolphins star wide receiver Tyreek Hill was involved in an incident with police.
What started out as a routine traffic stop for a driving violation ended with Tyreek Hill face down on the concrete in handcuffs.
The bodycam footage of the Tyreek Hill incident was released
The Monday after the detainment of Tyreek Hill occurred, the Miami-Dade County police released the bodycam footage of the entire incident.
The footage shows multiple police officers approaching Hill’s car and asking him for his information. Hill appeared to give them the required information before refusing to roll his window down fully. The window became an issue for the police, who then forcibly pulled Hill out of his vehicle.

Hill spoke out about the situation in an article from On3, saying he thinks it might have gone a little bit differently if he hadn’t been the star wide receiver for the Miami Dolphins.
“Right now, I’m still trying to put it all together … I still don’t know what happened,” Hill said, via ESPN. “But I do want to use this platform to say, ‘What if I wasn’t Tyreek Hill?’ Worst-case scenario, you know? … Everybody has bad apples in every situation, but I want to be able to use this platform to figure out a way to flip this and make it a positive on my end and Miami-Dade and do something positive for the community.
“It’s hard. I don’t want to bring race into it, but sometimes it gets kind of iffy when you do. What if I wasn’t Tyreek Hill? Lord knows what those guys would have done. I just wanted to make sure I was doing what my uncle always told me to do whenever you’re in a situation like that — put your hands on the steering wheel and just listen.”
Fans have a lot to say about the Tyreek Hill bodycam footage
Upon the release of the bodycam footage of the Hill incident on social media, many fans began to let their opinions known on the situation.
A lot of fans think the police involved were on a “power trip” and unnecessarily escalated the situation beyond what was required. Some even cited former controversial NFL quarterback Colin Kaepernick and his national anthem protests, saying this is the type of thing to which he was trying to bring attention.
Another contingency of fans believes Hill should’ve been more cooperative and that if he were, the whole situation would have been avoided.
Tyreek literally handed him his license and registration, and the cops got upset he wouldn’t roll his window all the way down, wh8ch by law he doesn’t have to do. They should all be fired

Cops on power trips are the most dangerous people in the world

As one of the few lawyers in this country who has tried federal civil rights cases in federal court, this IS a civil rights violation. The first officer was within the the bounds of the law. The second officer broke policies, rules and rights.
The police union is the most…

I back the blue but these cops are clowns. It’s these fake wanna be tough guy cops that ruin the reputation for the rest of law enforcement.

Tough, but fair. Tyreek should not have resisted.
