The Los Angeles Rams have a habit of not having a first-round pick in the draft. The team has not picked on day one since the first overall pick in 2016.
The Rams picked Jared Goff with that spot. While Goff wasn’t horrible, he was not what the team needed to get over the hump and win a championship.
Since the 2016 draft, General Manager Les Snead has seemingly adopted a new philosophy for first-round picks. Of course, this philosophy is ‘f*** them picks.’

Since Goff, Rams faithful have not seen any picks made by the team in the first round.
As a result, the fan base has not had much to look forward to in regard to All-Rookie teams.
However, Chad Reuter of nfl.com changed that for Rams fans in 2022. He projected two Rams to make the rookie squad this year.
Logan Bruss

The first of these players is the first pick for the organization this year (at pick 104 in the third round), offensive guard Logan Bruss.
However, Bruss is not guaranteed to be the week one starter at right guard. For that to become a reality, he will need to win the job in training camp.
Austin Corbett started at that position in 2021, but he went to the Panthers this offseason. Corbett’s departure left a void on the offensive line for the Rams.
This void, scheduled to be filled by a training camp competition, is anticipated to feature Bobby Evans and Bruss as competitors.
Provided Bruss wins the competition, he would set himself up nicely for an All-Rookie team nod. That would make three former Wisconsin Badgers starting offensive linemen for the Los Angeles Rams.
Cameron Dicker

The second rookie is punter Cameron Dicker.
Dicker’s spot is also up for question as the Rams have veteran Riley Dixon on the roster. This likely necessitates a punter competition at camp in addition to the right guard one.
However, Reuter projected Dicker to win due to his versatility.
“Yes, he’s long been known as ‘Dicker the Kicker,’ but his final year at Texas showed he could be a triple threat: punter, kicker and kickoff specialist,” Reuter wrote. “If he can handle holding duties, too, he should beat out veteran Riley Dixon for a roster spot.”
Thus Reuter awarded Dicker with a spot on the All-Rookie squad.
Player competitions are exciting for fans to follow and are a cause for excitement heading into training camp.
Rams rookies vying for these jobs should offer fans a bright glimpse into the future. Additionally, it shows that Snead’s philosophy of ‘f*** them picks’ might be a good philosophy for the NFL to mirror if these rookies develop alongside trusted veterans.
