On Thursday, the Pro Football Hall of Fame announced 54 semifinalists for the Class of 2023 in Seniors and Coaches/Contributors categories. A 12 person Seniors Committee names 25 semifinalists from the field. There is also a 12 person Coach/Contributor Committee that selected 29 semifinalists. The next step will be for each committee to vote to advance 12 Seniors and 12 Coach/Contributors to the finalists stage.
Head Coach, Dan Reeves
Dan Reeves goes down as one of the winningest coaches in NFL History. A part of that was a four-year stint with the New York Giants from 1993-96. With the Giants he had a record of 31-33 in the regular season and 1-1 in the postseason. In 1993, Reeves earned NFL Coach of the Year honors with the Giants after going 11-5. Furthermore, Reeves was an NFL Head Coach for 23 consecutive seasons and led the Denver Broncos to three Super Bowls and the Atlanta Falcons to one.
Defensive Back, Everson Wells
After playing for the Dallas Cowboys for nine years, Everson Wells joined the Giants from 1990-92. In his first season with the Big Blue, he started all 19 regular and post season games on their way to a Super Bowl XXV victory. In total, Wells played 36 games, starting in 31 of them and tallying 11 interceptions. Prior to New York, the defensive back played nine seasons in Dallas. In that time, he led the NFL three different season in interception. Finally, Wells finished his 13 year career being a four-time Pro Bowler and a first-team All-Pro in 1983.
