Desmond Ridder: The Atlanta Falcons’ Future QB1
Atlanta Falcons fans have no doubt that rookie QB Desmond Ridder will likely be the future of the franchise. The preseason has not even arrived yet, and some people are saying Ridder will possibly go into the season as the Falcons starter. While that is yet to be proven, one thing is certain…Desmond Ridder is a player to watch this preseason.
“They’re going to get everything out of me…I’m not leaving until I get a Super Bowl.” – Desmond Ridder
On July 19th, 2022 the Atlanta Falcons signed Ridder to a four-year 5.5 million dollar deal. He is the last of the Falcons’ 2022 rookie class to be signed. With the rookie finally signed, the Atlanta Falcons are now heading into training camp with their 90 man roster.
“It’s a competitive room. They push each other, which is great. I think it’s really key to have synergy in that room. It’s a group that really wants to go out there and succeed” – Charles London, Atlanta Falcons Quarterbacks Coach
Arthur Smith has held his cards closely to his chest whenever the conversation of starting QB comes up. It seems that with each day that passes Ridder is looking more and more like a starter. Starter or not, Desmond Ridder is a rookie to watch out for this preseason.
Tyler Allgeier: A Future RB Work Horse
Tyler Allgeier is becoming a serious prospect at RB for the Atlanta Falcons. Currently, veteran RB Cordarrelle Patterson is set to be the Falcons main ball carrier, but Allgeier’s playstyle seams be better suited for the Falcons offensive scheme. The Falcons will be looking to utilize him as much as possible this preseason to gauge his workload come regular season.
“I think they want a north and south back who can make quick cuts when they need to…I think I fit the program pretty well.” – Tyler Allgiere
The Atlanta Falcons were quick to sign Allgeier after the draft. He was signed on May 12th, 2022 alongside three other Falcons rookies. The two parties agreed to a four-year 3.99 million dollar contract. With such a quick signing, it’s clear to see that the Falcons see Allgeier as a great fit for their offense.
“We love the way you play, your makeup and the way you finish runs, and all the other stuff you bring to the table.” – Arthur Smith, Atlanta Falcons Head Coach
Heading into the preseason, do not be surprised to see Allgeier get some serious reps. The Falcons will be figuring out how to best utilize him. At the very least, he will be a very great addition to Cordarrelle Patterson’s already stellar run game. But if you ask us, Tyler Allgeier is the future starting RB for the Atlanta Falcons.
