Trey Hendrickson, defensive end for the Cincinnati Bengals, has finally reported for training camp. However, the talented player revealed that he is not there to train with the rest of the team but to simply tick his name off the absent list. A video has been going viral where Hendrickson can be seen on the field, but not in pads, as he coaches rookie defensive end Shemar Stewart.

Hendrickson is still hoping that his team will finally come around to give him his contract extension with more guaranteed money as the other top dogs in the team, like quarterback Joe Burrow, have it. Cincinnati’s treatment of Hendrickson has been called out by numerous fans and sports pundits, including renowned broadcaster Louis Riddick.
“Know what would help your 1st rounder even more? If you’re best pass rusher was compensated properly and was on the field actually showing him how it’s done. Just a thought,” Louis Riddick tweeted from his X account, sharing a video clip of Trey Hendrickson mentoring Shemar Stewart during training camp.

Shemar Stewart himself has been on holdout for quite some time as the rookie wanted a fully guaranteed contract. The Bengals finally gave in and Stewart has been reporting to training camp since last week. However, for some reason, the Cincinnati Bengals have not made any move regarding Trey Hendrickson’s contract extension, frustrating the player and fans as well.
Trey Hendrickson’s Presence To Training Camp Delights QB Joe Burrow
Trey Hendrickson ending his holdout and making it to training camp seems to mean a lot more for other players than for himself. Starting quarterback Joe Burrow was asked about Hendrickson ending his holdout with the Bengals, and he couldn’t hold back his happiness.
As the star of the offense, Burrow knows only too well the immense value that Hendrickson brings to the table in terms of defense. In fact, Hendrickson is perhaps the biggest defensive weapon that the Bengals have right now, recording 33 solo tackles in the previous season. To let go of him or keep him unhappy will definitely be a devastating move for the Cincinnati Bengals.

Joe Burrow also explained that Trey Hendrickson may have ended his holdout and made his way to training camp to save on the fines. Players are fined about $50,000 every day that they don’t make it to training ,and Hendrickson may have realized this in the last few days. Still, fans are hoping to see Hendrickson in pads soon enough in training camp.
