Jacksonville Jaguars quarterback Trevor Lawrence recently discussed the management firing of Head Coach Doug Pederson. Pederson was let go after the regular season ended with the Jaguars finishing third in the AFC South with four wins and 13 defeats. The record was actually not too bad for Jacksonville, who faced multiple woes like injuries throughout the season.
In fact, Pederson was actually pretty great for the team, ever since he joined back in 2022. Under his leadership, the team even managed to secure the AFC South once. Despite the news of Pederson’s firing being announced a few days back, QB Lawrence has not gotten over it fully and recently spoke to the press on the matter.
“It was just such a rough year and tough in every regard, injuries not winning games. That’s just tough on a team, so I think as a player, you look at it and you understand that’s part of the business. But you’re also disappointed and you feel some responsibility because as a player, you have (an) impact on the game.” Trevor Lawrence said to reporters.

Trevor Lawrence clearly feels guilty for not doing more in retaining Pederson as head coach. At the same time, the quarterback also mentioned that he expects the future head coach of the team to create a ‘tough team’ that other teams might struggle to play against. The Jaguars are hunting for a new coach at the moment and are targeting multiple offensive and defensive coordinators from other performing teams.
Trevor Lawrence Welcomes Baby Girl With Wife Marissa
Even if his previous NFL season did not go as planned, Trevor Lawrence has plenty to celebrate as he recently welcomed a baby girl with his wife, Marissa. Shae Lynn Lawrence born on January 4th was first seen by the world in a public Instagram post by her proud parents. The Jacksonville quarterback can be seen in the picture wearing a baseball cap with the words, ‘Girl Dad’, while his wife Marissa holds their daughter in black PJs.
Lawrence and the rest of the Jaguars are keeping their fingers crossed that their next NFL season goes better than their last as the management hunts for a new head coach. While Lawrence was indeed doing pretty well last year, his season was cut short after a concussion. Since then, the quarterback has not been seen back on the field and was replaced by quarterback Mac Jones.
