Trevor Lawrence is excited to play with All-Pro wide receiver
The Jacksonville Jaguars won the AFC South in Trevor Lawrence’s second season in the NFL. Lawrence and the team found their way back from a 3-14 campaign in 2022 and were able to win a playoff game last season. Lawrence hopes the offense will be even better next season with the aid of an All-Pro wide receiver.
The Jaguars traded with the Atlanta Falcons for Calvin Ridley midseason. Ridley was suspended last season for gambling but has since been reinstated. According to Demetrius Harvey with The Florida Times-Union, Lawrence said he is ready to practice with Ridley this offseason:
“We have [thrown together] once and I’m super excited. We’re just excited to have him. He’s gonna be another piece for this offense and our team and [he’s] just a good guy that we’re excited to bring into the locker room,” Lawrence said when asked about Ridley. “It’s gonna be a lot of fun.”
Ridley will open up the offense for the Jaguars. Tight end Evan Engram and wide receivers Christian Kirk and Zay Jones should benefit from defensive secondaries focusing on Ridley.
