College Football has changed significantly over the past five seasons from NIL, transfer portal, and major schools changing conferences. Clemson’s head coach, Dabo Swinney, has difficulty adapting to the change.
Dabo Swinney Has Not Taken A Player Out Of The College Football Transfer Portal This Season

Dabo Swinney and his Clemson Tigers have failed to take one player from the transfer portal this season, which is something you don’t see any major college football team do. The majority of the big-time schools are going after every big-time player in the portal, and schools like Ohio State, Alabama, Oregon, and Ole Miss did a wonderful job grabbing the top players in the portal this offseason. Still, an elite team, Clemson sat this one out and did nothing.
Many college football fans and analysts laugh at Swinney for not doing anything in the portal, but one major college football analyst has had enough of the Dabo hate.
Rece Davis Has Had Enough

ESPN Collge Game Day Host Rece Davis was on his College Game Day Podcast and stated,” he’s “sick to death” of people criticizing and questioning Swinney for his use of the transfer portal.”
An article by the Clemson Insider states that Davis had this to say about Clemson’s head coach.
“I’m rooting for the story of Clemson. I’m sick to death – sick to death of the Dabo blasphemy. I’ve had it,” Davis said. “You know what, the guy has won two national championships and played for two more. If he thinks it can work this way, why would we just automatically assume that because they’ve had a couple of, by Clemson standards, recent Clemson standards – by all-time Clemson standards, they haven’t had down years – by recent Clemson standards, they’ve had a couple of not as championship-caliber years. I’m rooting for that story. Not because I’m against the portal. The way Lane (Kiffin)’s doing it, go for it. No problem. No problem at all. Dabo’s trying to do it his way. Good for him. Go ahead. I hope Clemson is really, really good this year. Not rooting for the team – rooting for that story because of that.”

Swinney has been one of the best coaches in the sport for the last decade, but if he doesn’t adapt to the new college football era, he will be out the door in very little time. I’m sorry, but Swinney deserves all the criticism for not adapting to the recent changes since he hasn’t learned from them and continues to do the same thing repeatedly.
