The Buffalo Bills wanted to cry foul about the NFL and its officiating following their 32-29 loss in the AFC Championship Game to the Kansas City Chiefs. Bills general manager Brandon Beane complained about a fourth quarter spot that kept the Bills from gaining a crucial first down.
The Buffalo Bills don’t think the Kansas City Chiefs won with fair calls

On Thursday, head coach Sean McDermott claimed before the contest he knew the league wouldn’t give Buffalo a fair chance against Kansas City.
“We went into the game and one of my messages to the team, and this happens from time to time, is ‘you’re going to have to, you’re not going to get calls,’” McDermott said. “We’re not going to get calls. And I think just when you prepare a team, you prepare them ahead of time, mentally, for this is the way it’s going down. And you live with that. That’s not the reason why we lost.”
The league didn’t show any favoritism to the Chiefs or tight end Travis Kelce on Saturday.
The NFL fined Travis Kelce

Per Alaina Getzenberg of ESPN, the league fined Kelce for taunting the Bills on Patrick Mahomes‘ touchdown run. Mahomes took a hard hit from Damar Hamlin, and Kelce made sure to get in the safety’s face after the play.
“Chiefs TE Travis Kelce was fined $11,255 for taunting on this play in the AFC Championship,” Getzenberg posted on X. “Bills DT Jordan Phillips was fined $6,722 for unnecessary roughness (use of helmet).”

Kelce’s fine was nearly $5,000 more than the one they gave to Bills defensive tackle Jordan Phillips for using his helmet to bang Kelce’s helmet moments after he was done taunting Hamlin.
The league was not playing fairly there, indeed.
