Travis Kelce, tight end for the Kansas City Chiefs, recently made an appearance on the ‘Bussin’ With the Boys’ podcast where he spilled some tea on the Super Bowl LIX defeat against the Eagles back in February. The tight end also revealed the exact moment as to when he understood that the Lombardi trophy was officially out of reach for the Kansas City Chiefs.
Kelce and the Chiefs were originally aiming for a three-peat, having won the last two Super Bowls in a row. However, the Eagles proved a lot stronger and eventually ended up winning with an impressive 40-22 final score. Kelce himself did not do well in the game at all and only managed a mere four receptions for 39 yards with no scores at all.
“I don’t know if that ever like came in my mind it was always just keep f**king fighting and see what happens. But at the same time, it got ugly quick and that s**t wasn’t too fun. When they yanked their DB’s out, or their big guys on defense I was just like, ‘F**k man, I know what that sign is. At that point, you’re still trying to like, you’re in the mode of like fight, fight. Just give your guys and coaches everything you’ve got. It just wasn’t going our way man” Travis Kelce spoke about Super Bowl LIX in his recent appearance on ‘Bussin’ With the Boys’.

After the Super Bowl disaster, Travis Kelce was visibly heartbroken, and many Chiefs fans called him out for his dismal performance in the season. The tight end seems to have moved on from the defeat and is currently focusing on doing better in the 2025 season.

Travis Kelce Focused Only On Football This Offseason
In the same podcast episode, Travis Kelce also revealed that he made a huge decision in terms of his career in this NFL offseason. The tight end admitted that in this offseason, he decided to do nothing but train and prepare for the upcoming NFL season with the Kansas City Chiefs, rather than take on a big project like he used to in previous years.

It seems like Travis Kelce is desperate to erase the blackboard and put up some fresh numbers in the upcoming NFL season. Kelce will be playing his 13th year with the Chiefs, and many football fans are hinting that it might be his season in the league.
