Travis Kelce and Aaron Rodgers have been having a lukewarm feud throughout the season. Rodgers started by calling Kelce “Mr. Pfizer” after he appeared in commercials promoting the COVID-19 vaccine booster. This started a back-and-forth through the media and every week on the Pat McAfee Show, Rodgers tends to get another jab in. Kelce responded this week when asked about it and gave another playful jab back.
Travis Kelce And Aaron Rodgers Playful Jabs
“Aaron’s always been cool to me,” Kelce told J.R. Moehringer of the Wall Street Journal. “I knew he was trying to have some fun. He’s in a situation where Tuesdays are his game days…. So I get it, man, I’ve been injured too…. Who knows what the guy is going through?” While he is attempting to take the high road, the “Tuesdays are his gamedays” comment is definitely a little bit of a jab. Rodgers makes an appearance every Tuesday and it does seem to be an event for him. He likes the platform and uses it effectively.
A Lot Of Nothing
This is a lot of nothing. Kelce has done a good job at not taking the bait and having a full-on beef with the former MVP quarterback. He has taken playful jabs like the one today but nothing that really could be seen as completely disrespectful. With how Kelce’s life is looking right now, there really isn’t a need for him to get into a beef with another player.
The Chiefs and the Jets met earlier this season and both Travis Kelce and Aaron Rodgers seemed cordial. This is most likely a small publicity stunt to keep both players in the news and grow their respective brands.
