Travis Hunter, newly drafted cornerback/wide receiver for the Jacksonville Jaguars, recently turned 22 years old, and his mother, Ferrante Edmonds, could not hold back her pride as she wished her son for his birthday. Edmonds posted a video clip showing a montage of Hunter down the years at different ages.
Hunter was selected by the Jaguars as the second pick in the very first round of the 2025 NFL draft. Before the draft, Hunter played college football for the Jackson State Tigers and the Colorado Buffaloes. In his senior year, the wide receiver managed 96 receptions for 1,258 yards, scoring an impressive 15 touchdowns for the Buffaloes.
“Happy 22nd Birthday to My Son Travis, My Legacy, My Heart in Human Form! Today, I pause to give God glory for the gift of YOU. From the moment I first held you in my arms, I knew I was looking at greatness. You’ve always been a light — not just to me, but to this world. Your strength, your kindness, your humility, your hustle, your heart — it all reflects a purpose far greater than you even realize.” Ferrante Edmonds captioned her Instagram post, wishing her son, Travis Hunter for his 22nd birthday.

Way before the draft, Travis Hunter was already touted to be one of the best prospects of the season. Funnily enough, Hunter’s close friend and former college teammate, Shedeur Sanders, was pushed all the way to the fifth round before he was picked up by the Cleveland Browns. Both Hunter and Sanders played together in their college days and were coached by none other than Deion ‘Coach Prime’ Sanders.

Travis Hunter Impresses QB Trevor Lawrence In OTAs
Travis Hunter already has a great fan in Trevor Lawrence, quarterback for the Jacksonville Jaguars. In the recent OTAs, Hunter clearly impressed Lawrence who spoke to reporters about the newly drafted cornerback/wide receiver/s energy and “juice”.
“Got a lot of juice, like he can run all day. A lot of energy, I love it. Good energy, Always dapping guys up, just bringing juice every day. Like I said, he has a high moto, can just go – he’s like a kid, just runs around all day, he doesn’t get tired it seems like, so you can’t have enough of that.” Trevor Lawrence said to reporters about Travis Hunter.

Trevor Lawrence himself will be trying his best to prove himself after facing several injuries in the previous season. As a result of a bad shoulder injury in the last legs of the season, Lawrence had to miss a few games.
