Travis Hunter, newly drafted cornerback/wide receiver for the Jacksonville Jaguars, got a reaction out of none other than Cam Jordan, defensive end for the New Orleans Saints. Jordan appeared on ‘NFL Live’ on ESPN over the weekend and spoke at length about Hunter, particularly his dual positions.
This is not the first time NFL experts, like Jordan himself, have come out in doubt and suspicion as to how Hunter will manage to play both the offensive and defensive roles, and that too successfully. However, Hunter did do the same in his college football career with the Jackson State Tigers and the Colorado Buffaloes. In fact, before Hunter managed to be drafted by the Jaguars, the 22-year-old talent made it clear that he would only play for a team that would allow him to play in dual roles of a cornerback and a wide receiver.
“I mean, why not? He did it in college, and he showed excellence. He was at the top of the best positions, at both DB and receiver. You could say the top. I just need to know what position he’s starting at. Like, if you say DB, then you have to limit your reps at wide receiver. And if you say wide receiver, then you have to limit your reps at DB. Do I think that he has 120 snaps in him? Yes. For a season? Probably. For 10 years? Absolutely not.” Cam Jordan said about Travis Hunter on ‘NFL Live’.

Travis Hunter’s team, the Jacksonville Jaguars, definitely have no qualms or reservations about him playing in both roles. The Jaguars played poorly in the previous NFL season and will be desperate to show an improved record in the upcoming one.

Travis Hunter Might Not Have Time To Learn Both Roles With Jaguars, Says Cam Jordan
Travis Hunter has been impressing in his training camps with the Jacksonville Jaguars, no doubt. But Cam Jordan, in the same appearance on ‘NFL Live’ showed suspicion in how Hunter will be able to train for both the roles with the Jaguars, in such a short span of time.
“He’s got like four months of rookie stuff that they have to get into. And then they have a long season ahead of them. And you’re telling me he’s playing not only on offense, but on defense, too? That’s going to be special. I don’t know if I’m ever going to label it generational, but I’m going to label it special,” Cam Jordan said.
