Colorado Buffaloes two-way star Travis Hunter made an announcement about his future on Thursday just moments after the program landed a five-star quarterback.
The Buffaloes program had a stream of rapid news break on Thursday. Colorado is ranked No. 16 and amid a chase to make the playoff, but the team’s future is less certain with Shedeur Sanders and Shilo Sanders accepting invitations to the East-West Shrine Bowl ahead of the 2025 NFL Draft.
Colorado Buffaloes are losing talent to the NFL in 2025
Deion Sanders has been a popular name in NFL circles to take a head coaching job in the league after the success he’s had with Buffalo this season. The likelihood of Deion joining the Dallas Cowboys in 2025 seems like a long shot after five-star quarterback Julian Lewis announced his commitment to play for Coach Prime at Colorado during an appearance Thursday on The Pat McAfee Show.
Not long after Lewis gave his commitment to Colorado, Hunter, a Junior with the Buffaloes, made his intentions known for the 2025 season.

The lure of the NFL and a professional paycheck is too big for Hunter to pass up, even if Colorado’s program looks to be on solid ground in 2025.
The 21-year-old wide receiver-cornerback will be a coveted player in the 2025 draft. He’s in the hunt to win the Heisman Trophy this year. Hunter is expected to be a first-round pick and likely will go inside the Top 5.
Deion will be losing a lot of star power to the 2025 draft. Fortunately for the NFL Hall of Famer, he has elite recruits headed for Boulder.
