Top-5 Memphis Tigers Football Transfer Portal
Listed in order of impact, starting with #5; a transfer FROM the Memphis Tigers.Javon Ivory, WR. 46 catches, 586 yards, 2 touchdowns.
Ivory has been talked about for year, with improvements each year. I wrote a preview of him here about this year. This was his 3rd year and he was great at times but sometimes a victim of Coach Silverfield’s ever-evolving game plans. Though this was a hit for the offense his was not the most important offensive loss.
Top-5 Memphis Tigers Football Transfer Portal #4 INCOMING
Jaylen Joyner a DE transfer from Florida Atlantic University (tweet below h/t Bluff City Media).
Ryan Silverfield and the staff land a commitment from Florida Atlantic DE transfer Jaylen Joyner.
In his career with FAU, Joyner racked up 89 tackles, 13 tackles for loss and 10 sacks.

Top-5 Memphis Tigers Football Transfer Portal #3 Caden Prieskorn, TE FROM the Memphis Tigers
Prieskorn was a great threat. Especially in the red zone he was a unique talent. He caught 48 receptions for 602 yards and 7 touchdowns. This was his third year for the Tigers. In 2022 he broke out and was a key contributor, especially early in the year. Prieskorn made the Statement below:

This one will hit Memphis fans differently than strictly from a production standpoint. Every practice, every rep, 3rd year, broke out, was fun to watch. Not Gronk: but dang if you didn’t enjoy watching a guy having 50 pounds on the linebacker trying to guard him. And just having that grace and catching ability. The sort of pass-catcher that gave a little bit of personality to a program.
Top-5 Memphis Tigers Football Transfer Portal #2 Blake Watson INCOMING to Memphis from Old Dominion
Edges out Prieskorn as an impact. With Brandon Thomas graduating the need at RB for the Memphis Tigers is real and is pressing. At Old Dominion he was small (5-9) but a great producer at RB. He led them to an upset of Virginia Tech. Memphis will be returning Jevyon Ducker and Sutton (freshman) showed flashes this year so hopefully this becomes a position of strength for Memphis.
Top-5 Memphis Tigers Football Transfer Portal #1 Xavier Hill INCOMING to Memphis from LSU
There are others in this list that might have superior stats to Hill, but we’re talking about impact here. QB Seth Henigan was running for his life during some key games this year. After lineman Dylan Parham left for the pros, and with a short injury to Jacob Likes, it seemed the O-line never could catch a break. During his recruitment, he was ranked #5 by Rivals overall in the state of Mississippi (Olive Branch HS). There’s a really nice article about his time in LSU (h/t Saturday Down South) that is a nice introduction. Though he couldn’t crack the starting lineup in LSU, he’s got the skillset and recruiting shows he might be the best OL signing for the Memphis Tigers in many years.
Honorable mention, just missing the cut: LEAVING Cameron Wright, WR
LEAVING Cam’ron Jackson, DL (340 pounds and a starter on the DL) committed to FLA (per his Twitter)
LEAVING J C French, QB Though he didn’t start a game, he contributed in certain packages throughout the year. He was a key change of pace in some close games and his progress was clear to see.
Other articles you might want to see about the Transfer portal, my earlier one here (early in December).
