10. Denver Broncos (9-5)
The Broncos have won four consecutive games, averaging over 34 points per game during that winning streak. Their offense didn’t even play particularly well in Sunday’s win over the Colts, yet they still found a way to win the game convincingly. Denver is primed to end their current 8-year playoff drought.
9. Pittsburgh Steelers (10-4)
The absence of George Pickens has taken a huge toll on the Steelers’ offensive output. Pittsburgh has been held under 300 yards of offense in each of the last two games without Pickens, including a meager 163 yards of offense in Sunday’s 27-13 loss to Philadelphia. The Steelers have no downfield passing game when Pickens is out, placing them in a rather vulnerable position until he returns.
8. Los Angeles Rams (8-6)
Sean McVay, Matthew Stafford, and company have won four of their last five games and now sit at the top of the NFC West. Their last two victories, against the Bills and 49ers, have proven that they are capable of winning in high-scoring shootouts, as well as in defensive battles. The Rams are the team that likely wild cards Minnesota and Green Bay do not want to face in the first round of the playoffs.
7. Baltimore Ravens (9-5)
Lamar Jackson is having an absurdly good season with 37 total touchdowns and just 3 interceptions. The phenomenal seasons of Jackson and Derrick Henry have done well to mask some of Baltimore’s issues. The Ravens’ pass defense still ranks 31st in total yards allowed. Baltimore also leads the league in penalties committed with 117 for a total of 997 yards.
6. Green Bay Packers (10-4)
Each of Green Bay’s 4 losses have come against teams with exactly 12 wins (Philadelphia, Minnesota, and Detroit twice). Much like he did last season, Jordan Love has started to heat up down the stretch. Love has now gone four straight games without throwing an interception after having at least one in each of his first eight starts of the season.
5. Minnesota Vikings (12-2)
The Vikings’ current 7-game winning streak is the 2nd-longest active winning streak in the NFL behind the Eagles’ 10-game streak. They are also one of only four teams to have a point-differential greater than +100, the others being the Lions, Eagles, and Bills.
4. Detroit Lions (12-2)
Detroit’s long injury list has started to become concerning. Sunday’s loss against Buffalo saw season-ending injuries to David Montgomery, Carlton Davis, and Alim McNeill. The Lions currently have a total of 22 players on injured reserve, a factor that could become troubling during their potential playoff run.
3. Kansas City Chiefs (13-1)
Patrick Mahomes was listed as a full participant in today’s practice, eliminating any concerns that he might miss this Saturday’s upcoming game against the Houston Texans. Kansas City could potentially lock up the top seed in the AFC by Christmas if they win their next two games.
2. Philadelphia Eagles (12-2)
The Eagles are currently in the midst of the longest-ever winning streak in their 91-year history. In addition to their elite offensive personnel, Philadelphia can officially boast the best defense in the league. The Eagles’ defense leads the NFL in points per game (17.6), yards per game (275.6), yards per play (4.93), and 1st downs per game (17.4).
1. Buffalo Bills (11-3)
Buffalo is averaging over 40 points per game since their Week 12 bye. No team has looked as dominant on offense as of late as Buffalo has. Josh Allen has all but secured the MVP award after having 13 total touchdowns and no turnovers over the Bills’ last three games.
