10. Los Angeles Chargers (6-3)

Jim Harbaugh has stabilized the Chargers’ organization after many years of mediocre coaching. They have the best scoring defense in the NFL this season, holding 8 of their 9 opponents to under 20 points. They are also a portrait of efficiency on offense with Justin Herbert, who hasn’t thrown a pick since Week 2.
9. Washington Commanders (7-3)

Their narrow home loss to the Steelers is forgivable. Rookie quarterbacks seldom have good results when facing elite defenses that excel at getting pressure. Nevertheless, Washington still managed to score 27 points despite struggling to put together positive drives throughout the game.
8. Green Bay Packers (6-3)

The Packers’ losses this season have come against the Eagles, Vikings, and Lions who have a combined record of 22-5. They were also competitive for the most part in each of those defeats. Green Bay is still a really good team that can compete with anybody in the league.
7. Pittsburgh Steelers (7-2)

Pittsburgh moved closer to earning contender status after coming away with a hard fought victory against Washington in Russell Wilson’s first road start with the team. Their offense looked impressive for the third straight game with Wilson under center. The Steelers’ defense also kept Jayden Daniels and the Commanders’ elite offense mostly in check, holding them to just 242 total yards of offense and limiting Daniels to completing just 50 percent of his passes.
6. Philadelphia Eagles (7-2)

The Eagles’ blowout win in Dallas was mostly expected and, more importantly, necessary for them to keep pace with the NFC’s top teams. Philly’s defense was suffocating, holding the Cowboys’ offense to just 146 total yards and turning them over 5 times. Their upcoming Thursday night showdown with the Commanders will pinpoint who is truly the favorite in the NFC East.
5. San Francisco 49ers (5-4)

The scoreline of this week’s game against Tampa Bay was rather misleading. The Niners dominated the game in almost every respect despite needing a last second field goal to win. San Francisco severely outgained the Bucs in total yards, 413 to 208. Christian McCaffrey was also able to exceed 100 yards from scrimmage in his first game of the season.
4. Buffalo Bills (8-2)

The Bills have scored 30 or more points in four consecutive games, propelling them to their first 8-2 start in 30 years. They were able to overwhelm the Colts despite Josh Allen having his first multi-interception game of the season. This week, their undefeated home record will be put on the line against the undefeated Chiefs.
3. Baltimore Ravens (7-3)

I don’t know if any team in the league can beat Baltimore in a shootout, as Cincinnati has found out on two separate occasions this season. They have an abundance of fire power highlighted by a quarterback with a skill set that is unique from any other QB in the history of the sport. They will be a tough out for anyone.
2. Detroit Lions (8-1)

Detroit showed grittiness in their 16-point comeback win over the Houston Texans. Even with Jared Goff throwing a whopping 5 interceptions, the Lions were able to overcome adversity in one of the few games this season that they were actually put to the test. Detroit will be heavy favorites in each of their next three games against Jacksonville, Indianapolis, and Chicago, giving them an inside track to the NFC’s top seed.
1. Kansas City Chiefs (9-0)

As I stated last week, the Chiefs continue to win in any way possible and this week’s victory against the Broncos further proves that point. After a rocky start to the year, Patrick Mahomes has gone back-to-back games without throwing an interception. If Kansas City can win in Buffalo this week, they will have a decent chance at finishing the regular season undefeated.
