If anyone deserves to be called the greatest NFL player of all time, it’s hard to argue against Tom Brady. With seven Super Bowl titles under his belt before retiring in February 2023, his legacy is already cemented.
Over the weekend, Brady made an appearance at the Fanatics Games in New York, where he took part in an icy interview—literally. Sitting in a tub of freezing water alongside comedian Kevin Hart, Brady was asked who among today’s quarterbacks might have a real shot at taking the GOAT crown from him.
He didn’t even blink.
“Oh, Patrick (Mahomes), for sure,” Brady answered. “I just think, Patrick, I love his mentality. And he’s a guy that I see.”
Tom Brady went on to talk about what separates Mahomes from the rest of the pack—not just talent, but his desire to win. He said he pays close attention to how top players carry themselves, especially after games, and Mahomes’ comments often sound familiar.
“He says a lot of things I used to say,” Brady shared, pointing to that championship mindset.

He also gave a nod to the system Mahomes is in. With head coach Andy Reid guiding the ship and the organization fully behind him, Mahomes has everything in place to thrive—and clearly, he has. At just 28, Mahomes has already played in five Super Bowls and taken home three wins. His first trip to the big game ended in a loss to Brady and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers back in 2021.

Tom Brady Returns to the Booth
While he’s no longer throwing touchdowns, Tom Brady’s still sticking close to football. The upcoming 2025 NFL season will mark the second year of his 10-year, $375 million deal with FOX Sports as a lead analyst.
Despite earlier rumors that he might back out due to other commitments, Brady confirmed he’ll be back in the booth.

In the offseason, he traveled through Europe and Japan before returning to New York for the Fanatics Games. But come kickoff this fall, Brady’s all set to break down the action from the broadcast booth—bringing the same sharp eye and competitive fire fans saw during his playing days.
