New England Patriots legend Tom Brady, despite being lauded by fans and analysts as one of the greatest in football, if not the greatest, admits that being a huge football star does not always translate to being the greatest in other aspects of his life.

In a new newsletter release through his official website, Tom Brady got vulnerable and shared how the trajectory of his football career also shaped how he had been, particularly as a father and a family man.
“Being a great football player didn’t make me a great dad, but how I became a great player certainly had an impact — from showing up day in and day out, to doing whatever it took to get better, be successful, be a role model, and to provide,” Brady said.
“You won’t be perfect. Nobody is. You will fail and disappoint people along the way. But if you stay committed to your goals over time, even when your priorities shift (which they do at times), then you can be confident that you are living a life of integrity and purpose,” he added.

Tom Brady Admits to Not Yet Seeing His New Statue
The New England Patriots are set to unveil a 12-foot bronze statue of Tom Brady outside Gillette Stadium next Friday, yet the quarterback-turned-broadcaster has never actually seen the finished monument. Crafted to capture Brady’s iconic passing motion, the sculpture was completed over a year ago but has remained in storage while the team tried to find a date that fit his busy schedule.
Patriots owner Robert Kraft confirmed that coordinating around Brady’s Fox Sports commitments proved too difficult last season, delaying the public debut of the statue.
Kraft spoke with host Kay Adams about the yearlong wait, noting that “Tommy is so busy” with his post-playing career that the original unveiling had to be shelved. He lauded Brady’s transition from the 199th overall pick in the 2000 draft to one of football’s greatest figures, adding that the extra time in storage only heightens anticipation.

Plans for the Brady statue were first announced on June 12, 2024, during his Patriots Hall of Fame induction at Gillette Stadium, an event that also saw the retirement of his No. 12 jersey before more than 60,000 fans. The ceremony will take place outside the team’s Hall of Fame just ahead of New England’s preseason opener against the Washington Commanders.
As the statue takes its place on the plaza, fans and teammates alike will witness a tangible tribute to Tom Brady’s career that reshaped the franchise and left an indelible mark on the NFL.
