Tom Brady’s broadcasting debut as the lead color commentator on FOX was met with mixed reviews, as the seven-time Super Bowl champion looked to get his footing as an announcer.

However, as Week 2 looms, Brady revealed his biggest regret about the 2024 NFL season, including when it comes to his former team.
“Baker, I wish I took you in fantasy,” Brady revealed, via the NFL on FOX.
Missing out on Mayfield in Fantasy Football had to sting, given that Brady won a Super Bowl ring for the Buccaneers and the 29-year-old couldn’t have gotten off to a faster start to this season.
Mayfield went off in the Tampa Bay Buccaneers’ opener, passing for 289 yards and four touchdowns in a 37-20 blowout victory over the Washington Commanders.
“But, a great start,” Brady said of Mayfield’s dominant performance. “Finding Mike [Evans], finding Chris [Godwin], having that type of performance at home. That’s exactly what that team needs, great job.”

Week 2 will be a major barometer for Mayfield and the Buccaneers, when Tampa travels to Detroit to take on the Lions in a rematch of last year’s NFC Divisional Playoffs as well as a game that some view as a potential NFC Championship Game preview for this season.
“I mean, every week you have to bring your best stuff,” Mayfield told the Buccaneers’ official website of Sunday’s game against the Lions. “At this level, if you don’t show up you can get beat any given week. This is one of those – on the road with a team who was in the NFC Championship, where we aspire to be, so it’s one of those – you said it, measuring sticks to great competition [and] see how our guys handle it early on. You know, it’s a long season but we can learn a lot from this one.”
