It’s time for another installment of NFL Player Props. After hitting two out of three player props last weekend, the goal is to nail all three this weekend. Week 3 is underway as the Cleveland Browns beat the Pittsburgh Steelers 29-17 on Thursday Night Football. However, there’s still plenty of action left on the table. Here’s another trio of player props worth locking in for Week 2 immediately.
Christian McCaffrey UNDER 4.5 Receptions vs Saints (+110 DK)
This player prop is definitely risky because McCaffrey has covered this number in six out of seven career games against the New Orleans Saints. However, there’s a good chance he falls under this line.
McCaffrey has fallen short of five receptions in both games so far this season, registering four in each contest. A good reason for that is Matt Rhule and the Carolina Panthers are limiting his overall workload at the moment. He had 14 touches against the Cleveland Browns and 19 touches against the New York Giants. His usage rate was much higher in previous seasons.
Also, the New Orleans Saints’ defense has been good against pass-catching running backs this season. Both the Atlanta Falcons RBs and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers RBs failed to hit the five-reception mark as a unit. So, asking one player to surpass this mark by himself seems like a stretch.
Trevor Lawrence UNDER 247.5 Passing Yards at Chargers (-125 DK)

Lawrence is coming off the best game of his NFL career. However, this number is too inflated following that performance against the Indianapolis Colts. He’s only thrown for more than 248 passing yards five times in his 19-game career. Plus, he’s facing a better defense than what he’s seen so far this season.
The Los Angeles Chargers are a better defensive team than the Colts or Washington Commanders. They just limited Patrick Mahomes to 235 passing yards last week. There’s a good chance the Jacksonivlle Jaguars will rely on the run and quick passes to minimize the pass rushing opportunities for Kahlil Mack and Joey Bosa. If that happens, it’s hard to see Lawrence hitting the over on this player prop.
Cordarrelle Patterson OVER 41.5 Rush Yards at Seahawks (-125 DK)

This player prop seems too low. Patterson blew past this benchmark against the Saints in Week 1. He landed on 41 rush yards against the Los Angeles Rams in Week 2, but with only 10 carries. Now, he faces the Seattle Seahawks’ run defense, which ranks in the bottom third of the NFL in rushing yards allowed.
Through two games this season, Melvin Gordon, Javonte Williams, Jeff Wilson Jr. and Deebo Samuel have all surpassed 42 rushing yards against the Seahawks. On the flip side, the Atlanta Falcons are ranked seventh in rushing yards per game. Patterson will get enough carries eclipse this player prop unless the Falcons fall behind quickly, like in Week 2. However, this game is a 1-point spread. A blowout seems unlikely.
