The LSU Tigers started out 6-1 during the 2024 college football season and they were on the way to making the playoffs, until things went south for them after that. With LSU missing the postseason, there will be a lot of pressure on head coach Brian Kelly to make the playoffs in his fourth season as the head coach of this football program.

The Tigers have not won a season opener yet under Kelly. They will head on the road in Week 1 against the Clemson Tigers in a must-win early season matchup for LSU. There will be a lot of pressure on them to get the win early on in the regular season.
Analyst Makes Harsh Comments About LSU Tigers Head Coach Brian Kelly

Cotton Bowl Head Coaches Press Conference
Former LSU player Marcus Spears was on Get Up this morning on ESPN to talk about the Tigers for the upcoming 2025 college football season. He understands the kind of pressure that Kelly is facing with this football program entering his fourth season. Spears said,
“If you don’t win big, if you’re Brian Kelly, this fan base is done. … If they’re on the outside looking in, in the playoffs, this fan base is going to turn quickly on Brian Kelly.”
There is a world where the Tigers could potentially be 1-2 after three weeks. LSU could potentially lose to Clemson on the road and at home against the Florida Gators on September 13. If that occurs for the Tigers, many fans are going to be turning on Kelly as head coach. There will be fans who will want the football program to start its next search for a new head coach.
However, if LSU makes it to the playoffs, Kelly will not be going anywhere. The first three weeks of the college football season for the Tigers will determine a lot where this football team will be heading during the 2025 college football season.
