The most important thing that the New York Giants had to do in the offseason was fix its quarterback room. Going from Daniel Jones, Tommy DeVito, Tim Boyle, and Drew Lock to Russell Wilson, Jameis Winston, and Jaxson Dart, and DeVito at quarterback in 2025 is going to be very different.

Head coach Brian Daboll already announced that Wilson is going to be the Week 1 starter for the Giants against the Washington Commanders on the road. Wilson was with the Pittsburgh Steelers during the 2024 season. He has looked very good in training camp for New York early on.
New York Giants Head Coach Brian Daboll Praises Russell Wilson and Malik Nabers Relationship

Kay Adams of the Up & Adams Show was on the road at Giants training camp on Monday interviewing Daboll and asking him many questions about this team entering the 2025 season. Daboll talked about the relationship between Wilson and wide receiver Malik Nabers so far and said,
“They talk a lot, they communicate a lot. Nabers will come back into the quarterback meetings and just sit in there on his own. It’s very good open dialogue.”
It is going to be very important for Wilson and Nabers to be on the same page early and often for the Giants on offense in 2025. New York’s offense has been one of the worst in the league for the last two seasons. If the Giants offense can score more points in 2025, they are going to finish better than a 3-14 record, which transpired in 2024.
Wilson during the 2024 season with Pittsburgh completed 63.7% of his passes for 2,482 yards, 16 touchdowns, and five interceptions. He also rushed for 155 yards on 43 carries and two touchdowns, along with averaging 3.6 yards per carry. One of the reasons why Daboll named Wilson the starting quarterback for the Giants is because of his leadership and also because of how long he has played at a high level for.
Wilson is 36 years old, and New York is looking to have better results in 2025. Nabers is 22 years old, and he caught 109 passes for 1,204 yards, and seven touchdowns. He was targeted 170 times and averaged 11.0 yards per reception. Nabers was fifth in the NFL in receptions and seventh in the NFL in receiving yards during the 2024 NFL season.
If Nabers and Wilson are on the same page as Daboll says they are, well they are both in for a big year. There is a chance that Nabers could potentially have 1,500 yards with better quarterback play during the 2025 NFL season.
