The Tampa Bay Buccaneers won the NFC South division once again during the 2024 NFL season. Tampa Bay owns the division until further notice.

The Atlanta Falcons have been trying to close the gap on the Buccaneers, but Tampa Bay has found a way to win the division even though Atlanta beat them twice last season. As long as they have quarterback Baker Mayfield healthy, this offense will be elite. There could be some questions about Tampa Bay’s defense, but there is a lot of talent on this roster. Can the Buccaneers potentially be a dark horse Super Bowl contender in 2025?
Tampa Bay Buccaneers Insider Believes the Projected Win Total for Football Team Is Too Low

The projected win total for Tampa Bay by the Athletic in 2025 is 9.8 wins. Well, the Buccaneers potentially finishing 9-8 this season may feel like a far stretch. Dan Pompei of the Athletic thinks that Tampa Bay has an elite ball club entering the 2025 season. Pompei said,
“The Bucs were a 10-win team a year ago, and on paper at least, they are a better one in 2025. There are some unknowns, most notably how the offense will be impacted by Josh Grizzard replacing Liam Coen as offensive coordinator. But if the Bucs can survive the first 11 games of the season (they will be without LT Tristan Wirfs, WR Chris Godwin and WR Jalen McMillan for at least some of those games) it gets easier from there. They can finish strong with a schedule that offers up the Cardinals, Saints, Falcons, Panthers twice and Dolphins to end the regular season.”
Wirfs and Godwin could potentially be back for Week 1 against the Falcons but it remains to be seen. Wide receivers Mike Evans and Emeka Egbuka are projected to be the top two options for Mayfield. They also have a solid offensive line and running back Bucky Irving is very underrated.
The favorable schedule could potentially get to a two or a one seed in 2025. Tampa Bay finished with a 10-7 record and finished as the three seed in the NFC. The Buccaneers lost to the Washington Commanders in the wild card round. They had no answer to stop quarterback Jayden Daniels.
However, the Buccaneers offense might be hard to defend in 2025. Tampa Bay no doubt is going to win at least 11 or 12 games in 2025. They have the talent to be a Super Bowl contender in the NFC.
