The Arizona State Sun Devils won the BIG12 Conference last season, and they were the lone representative from the conference in the college football playoffs. Arizona State received a first round bye, and they had the Texas Longhorns on the ropes in the game before losing in double overtime.

One player who will be back in 2025 from the 2024 team is quarterback Sam Leavitt. Leavitt has a lot of potential entering the 2025 season after having a good 2024 season. Arizona State might have the best quarterback in the conference in 2025.
Arizona State Seminoles Quarterback Sam Leavitt Is 1 of 7 Quarterbacks To Watch For In College Football Entering the 2025 Season

David Kenyon of Bleacherreport.com listed seven potential quarterbacks who will be at the top of the college football landscape entering the 2025 season. One name that is surprising on this list is Leavitt from Arizona State. Kenyon believes that his 2024 season was no fluke and that he can very well repeat the same performance or be better in 2025. He said,
“The departure of star running back Cam Skattebo means Arizona State is destined to have a different kind of offense in 2025.
In other words, there’s more pressure on Sam Leavitt.
Fortunately for the Sun Devils, the Michigan State transfer was terrific while guiding them to a Big 12 crown last year. He threw for 8.2 yards per attempt with 24 touchdowns to six interceptions, adding 443 yards and five scores on the ground.
Yes, it helps to have All-Big 12 wideout Jordyn Tyson, but no other receiver even had 400 yards in 2024. Jalen Moss, who notched a pair of 500-yard seasons at Fresno State, should a high-quality complementary piece.
Throw in a strong offensive mind in head coach Kenny Dillingham, and Leavitt is well-positioned to build on his promising debut in Tempe.”
He also completed 61.7% of his passes and also threw for 2,885 yards. There is a chance that Leavitt could eclipse over 3,000 yards passing and throw over 30 touchdowns in 2025. He is 6’0″ and weighs 210 lbs. Leavitt will be entering his redshirt sophomore season and there is a chance he could be a household name across the sport by the end of the 2025 college football season.
