Colorado Buffaloes quarterback Shedeur Sanders has been projected to go all over the place in many NFL mock drafts. There are some NFL teams who will need to draft a quarterback in the 2025 NFL Draft.

At this point, he has been projected to go as high as number two to the Cleveland Browns and as low as number 21 to the Pittsburgh Steelers. Sanders is no doubt the most polarizing quarterback prospect in this draft class. There is no doubt that the Tennessee Titans are going to draft quarterback Cam Ward number one overall in the 2025 NFL Draft. It will be interesting to see where Sanders lands.
NFL.com Mock Draft Has Colorado Buffaloes Shedeur Sanders Being Drafted by the New Orleans Saints

NFL.com’s Rhett Lewis created his latest 2025 NFL Mock Draft. With the NFL Draft just a little two weeks away from taking place in Green Bay, Wisconsin, Lewis made a bold take about where Sanders is going to land. He has the former Buffaloes quarterback being selected ninth overall by the New Orleans Saints. Lewis said,
“There’s definitely been some smoke regarding the Saints taking a quarterback in this draft. In this simulation, the second-best signal-caller in the class falls right into their lap at No. 9. At some point, New Orleans has to start planning for the future; snagging a talented prospect with a reasonable price tag at the league’s most premium position could be a coup.”
Derek Carr has two years remaining on his contract for the Saints. Would New Orleans be willing to sit Sanders for a season or two before he became the next franchise quarterback? It would be one of the biggest shocks of the 2025 NFL Draft because it appears as if the Saints have no plans to draft a quarterback and they also have Spencer Rattler on the roster.
Sanders is 6’2″ and weighs 215 lbs. A season ago with the Buffaloes, he completed 74.0% of his passes for 4,134 yards, 37 touchdowns, and 10 interceptions. With Kellen Moore being the new head coach of the Saints, it appears as if they could be heading toward a rebuild. This could be a chance for Moore to convince the Saints to develop the former Buffaloes quarterback.
