Tua Tagovailoa is taking steps to give back to the community, living up to his reputation of being an all-around good guy. The Miami Dolphins quarterback announced the start of the Tua Foundation in February of 2021. The Tua Foundation’s intentions are supporting youth initiatives, health and wellness, and other charitable causes. Considering the substantial donations made already, it’s safe to say that Tua is on to something great.
Back to His Roots
The list of grant recipients, as found on the Tua Foundations website, includes:
Nick’s Kids Foundation
Boys & Girls Clubs of West Alabama
Big Brothers Big Sisters Miami
Big Brothers Big Sisters of Broward County
Saint Louis School
Polynesian Football Hall of Fame
Big Oak Ranch
Miami Police Athletic League
Alabama Sheriffs Youth Ranches
Lipscomb Academy Football
Vai Sikahema Foundation
National Pacific Islander Education Network
Evidently, the choices in the grant recipients make it clear that Tua intends on using his success to give back the community that supported him. Even more, the above list does not include the large donation that was made to the Tallapoosa County Girls Ranch in 2021. Tagovailoa and the foundation team acknowledged the need and donated $93,000 towards funeral expenses for the victims of a tragedy within the ranch.
Luau with Tua
Tua put a very personal touch on two charity events in April of this year. Events in Alabama and Florida consisted of Polynesian food and entertainment. The proceeds from the event went to benefit Nick’s Kids Foundation and Big Brothers Big Sisters in Miami and Broward County.
Nick Saban especially perceived these events well, vocalizing that he is proud of Tua. So, don’t be surprised if there are more of these events coming in the future.
Additionally, you can even purchase your own Tua Lei, of which proceeds will benefit the Tua Foundation. Expecting nothing less than kindness and charity from Tua in the future, the Tua Foundation will be one to inspire.
