The rush of week 1 has came and went. Week 2 has promises of being even more exciting as far as match-ups go. For this article I have 6 picks and 3 others I am on the fence about, I will give you the 6 I have already placed. The Red Beard: NFL Picks Week 2.
The Red Beard: NFL Picks Week 2
Pittsburgh Steelers ML vs New England Patriots
As long as this game is + money for the Steelers it is a no brainer for me. The line is at 2 right now which us NFL bettors know, there is no value there.
The Pittsburgh Steelers are in my eyes the most under rated team in the league this year. For them to not be favored by -3.5 to -5 in this game is an absolute cry for me to bet it.
Mac Jones is not the greatest quarterback healthy, much less injured. Today he has been cleared that he will play however I do not think it matters against this Steel Curtain of a defense. Steelers win 24-10.
New Orleans Saints vs Tampa Bay Buccaneers Over 44
The Saints over, anytime it is under 50, will be, along with the Steelers as dogs, my go to pick every time I see it. In Week 1 I took both and came out beautifully, sorry I did not post Saints over last week. I usually bet more than this article pertains. Follow my twitter for daily bets, link at bottom of page.
This week we have a Tampa Bay team who in its self can put up 44 points going against a Saints team who in its self can put up 44 points.
I see this game going well into the 30’s for the winner. Saints 38-21.
Los Angeles Rams vs Atlanta Falcons Over 46.5
These two teams had opposite games in week 1. The Rams looked shell shocked and lost, while the Falcons did what they do best; let an opposing team break a record for largest comeback in shortest amount of time on them.
Both teams will come into this one with something to prove. For the Falcons it will be to continue to run the ball which they did at an astounding rate Sunday. For the Rams it will be getting the offense out of the mud and back on track, little suggestion, throw the ball to somebody not named Cooper at least once this weekend.
Both of these teams will come out fighting, both have fast paced offenses that do not like to slow down. Give me the Over 46.5, Rams win 31-16.
Seattle Seahawks +9 vs San Francisco 49ers
This game is absurd to me, the 49ers should not be favored by 10 points against anybody in this league. Especially not the red hot Seahawks who started their season off on the highest note possible.
Now I am not saying Seahawks run away with this game, or even win for that matter. However, I am saying there is no way this game does not come down to a field goal in the 4th quarter.
These coaches know each other well. Also, these teams match up well. Defensive minded teams with average or below average quarterbacks. 49ers on the below average side. Give me a close game, Seahawks 17, 49ers 16.
Arizona Cardinals +6 vs Las Vegas Raiders
Now I am about as sure on this one as a stray cat on when it’s next meal will come. However I do not see the Raiders beating anybody by more than 4 or 5 this season.
The Raiders make up is a tough, fight til the end team that honestly I do not think they have won by more than 3 in the last 10 years. *Googles Raiders scores last 10 years* Last season is all I looked at. Out of the 10 games they won, only 2 were by more than 3 points.
The Arizona Cardinals will play better defense and I believe this offense gets going enough to make some drives late and make it a game. Raiders win 23-21.
Tennessee Titans +10 vs Buffalo Bills
Trust me this number at least makes sense to me. However anytime I can get a team like the Titans at +10, I am going to take it.
Nobody in this league should be that favored over a team on the fringe of a Super Bowl for the last 4 seasons. This line is a total and I mean total over reaction to week 1 on both sides.
This game and the Cardinals game, I might die on that ledge, yet no matter the result, I will be standing on it. Give me a dog fight game, Bills 24, Titans 17.
