Now that the season is getting into the meat of the schedules, we can take advantage of some lines that are completely off. Let’s dive into the week 4 of college football picks. I have 10 games on the slate.
The Red Beard: College Football Picks Week 4
College Football Picks: Friday
Air Force -24 vs Nevada
Air Force ran into a weird game last Friday night in Wyoming. I am looking for them to bounce back and dominate against a Nevada team that was a 23 point dog to Iowa last week.
That number in itself shows how we should take advantage of this number. Air Force wins this game easily, and by 30 or more points on Thursday night. Air Force 44-3.
College Football Picks: Saturday
Michigan -16.5 vs Maryland
This game is another one where the number is just off. I personally feel it should be closer to 24 than 17.
Michigan has gotten the running game rolling to historic levels this season, on pace to break all kind of records on the ground.
As the defense of Michigans tightens up in the second half, look for the Wolverines to expand their lead to blow-out proportions by the 4th quarter. Michigan wins 52-17.
Florida +10.5 vs Tennessee
This is a tough game to bet. I am strictly betting the number in this one. I do not think Florida, especially after they have shown a lack of common sense in certain situations from the coaching staff, to win this game on the road.
However Florida will not get blown out, definitely not in an SEC game. They have talent on both offense and defense. I expect this game to come down to the last drive, with Florida keeping it within 10 points.
Give me to Vols winning 38-34.
Texas -6 vs Texas Tech
This is another game that I am betting the number here. Texas defense showed against Alabama that they are serious. As long as the offense can be efficient, Texas should win this game by double digits.
Any number under 7 on this game is an automatic bet for me. Texas wins this one over their cross state foe easily, 28-13.
Tulane vs Southern Miss Over 49
The Tulane Green Wave has shown me that they are serious in their first three games of the season. Two blow-out wins and then winning a close hard fought game last week against Kansas State.
That game was low scoring, yet against Southern Miss I expect Tulane to bring out the explosives Saturday night and run away with this game. For a team only expected to win 6 games this season a victory this weekend will bring them to 4-0.
Tulane wins big, 49-10.
LSU vs New Mexico Over 45.5
This number is just flat out disrespectful. LSU Saturday night finally found their rhythm against Miss State. They will come into this game against New Mexico and break the scoreboard.
LSU will win this game in dramatic fashion, covering this absurdly low total. 56-3.
Alabama vs Vanderbilt Over 57
This game will be competitive for the first drive before Alabama takes a 14-0 lead 3 minutes into the game.
I have been riding Alabama Overs this season, as well as the previous 12 seasons. This pick is one of my go-to’s because in the long run you will win way more than you lose.
Give me Alabama smothering Vandy 63-10. With the Over being covered in the third quarter.
Oklahoma -13 vs Kansas State
Oklahoma is one of the most exciting teams on offense this season. Blowing out competition with their fast pace shoot it out offense.
Kansas State struggled to score against a Tulane Green Wave team last weekend. I do not see them figuring it out against Oklahoma after only scoring 10 points.
Oklahoma has run away with games this season covering spreads under 15 at a perfect cliff. Nothing changes this weekend, Oklahoma wins 44-7.
USC -6.5 vs Oregon State
USC has been one of those teams this season that the books are trying to figure out. As long as that is the case I will be hammering the oddly low odds they are given until I am proven wrong.
No way should this number be less than 13, however it is. Which means I am all over it. Give me USC winning 48-24.
College Football Picks: Best Bet of the Weekend
Utah -14 vs Arizona State
I will probably bet this game 5 times before kick off on Saturday. As long as this number is under 24 I will not be able to stop myself.
Arizona State is not good, and they just fired their head coach Herm Edwards as he was walking off the field in last weeks blow out loss in which they were 20 point favorites.
Utah should be -33 after what I have witnessed them doing the first 3 weeks of college football. Give me the Utes 77-7.
