The football season is finally here, after weeks of watching NFL pre-season games. The first official games for us to consume and bet on are this Saturday in the NCAAF slate.
So let me shift my focus for a day or two from MLB and handicap this weekends games. As we start counting The Red Beard record on the season. Right now it is a fresh beginning, nothing from last year matters.
All the noise is on this Uconn vs. Utah St game for some reason the Uconn +27 is the bet being taken worldwide. I am going stay away from that and dive into a few other matchups.
The two games I like the most, that I feel like I can take advantage of the numbers are between Northwestern vs. Nebraska (Da Cornhuskers) and Wyoming vs. Illinois.
Northwestern vs. Nebraska
As enticing as the line is on this game at 13.5 in Nebraska’s favor, I am looking at the over/under which in the last 24 hours has moved from 49.5 to 50.5.
I liked the under at 49.5 so you can guess that I love the under 50.5. I am anticipating a defensive heavy weight bout between these two teams built on defense and running the ball.
Final take Nebraska wins 27-13. Which yes the spread will be covered at this total but what if and I mean what if it ends up being 24-13 or 27-17, or worse you lose by a hook at 27-14. You know what all of these scores have it common, the under 50.5 hitting easily.
Wyoming vs. Illinois
With this number sitting at 11, I think it is a no brainer to take the underdog here in Wyoming. With the over/under at 44, I just do not see a blowout happening. Honestly I would not be surprised if Wyoming won outright, however in week one I am going to stay away from +350 moneylines.
I see this game going late into the 4th quarter with anybody having a chance to win, being decided by one or two plays. One first down or field goal could be the difference in this one.
Final take Wyoming wins 21-18. Since greediness is a sin, I will take the 11 points with Wyoming and not worry about them covering for one second.
