Trey Lance is positioned to be the starting QB for the San Francisco 49ers. This leaves Jimmy Garoppolo as a backup or a tradable quarterback.
Seahawks fans wouldn’t mind Garoppolo as the Seahawks starting QB. He was a backup quarterback to Tom Brady back in New England from 2014 to 2017. Jimmy was also the starter for San Francisco from 2017 to 2021.
Odds are, Seattle has their eyes on potential quarterback candidates and Garoppolo fits the bill. His best trait is confident throws, quick releases, and pinpoint accuracy.

Jimmy Garoppolo Would Give The Seahawks a Better Chance
The quarterback has playoff experience and has proven to win over the trust and confidence of the locker room. Teams know that he is a competent quarterback who can put points on the board and give defenses a stressful time.
Lock and Geno are quality backup quarterbacks, but that’s not what Seattle needs. They either let the year play out and draft a viable quarterback candidate in the 2023 draft.
I don’t see Geno or Lock taking the Seahawks to the playoffs without a QB1 tier play-caller.
Trey Lance Will Take Over in San Francisco
NFL legend Jerry Rice discussed how “Lance throws an extremely catchable ball, and how quickly the two were able to get in sync on the field. He also talked about how before the 2021 draft he was impressed with Lance’s big-play ability both in the passing and running game.”
Trey Lance
49ers TE George Kittle says Trey Lance has an insane ceiling, reminds him most of Josh Allen.
Clearly, the team has a ton of trust in the young buck, so there is no doubt that Jimmy G will be playing backup or looking for a new home.
Seattle would be an excellent landing spot for the 30-year-old Garoppolo – either to finish out his career or find a temporary spot for now.
