“The NFL made an EPIC MISTAKE!”: Fans Echo Analyst’s Slam of Roger Goodell for Bad Bunny Promotion

The NFL season is almost close to its end, with the most-awaited football game of the year next Sunday. This year’s Super Bowl matchup will be between the New England Patriots and the Seattle Seahawks in a repeat of the 2015 edition at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California.

As always, the halftime show will happen in epic fashion like the previous years, being one of the highlights of the Super Bowl. However, many do not like this year’s choice of rapper Bad Bunny as the halftime performer, with many blaming NFL commissioner Roger Goodell.

Analyst attacks Roger Goodell over Bad Bunny choice

This year’s Super Bowl edition saw the NFL choose Bad Bunny to be the halftime performer. However, this has received backlash right from the start, both due to his support of left-wing politics and the fact that he primarily sings in Spanish. The Puerto Rican performer is an ardent opponent of US President Donald Trump and many of his policies, including ICE’s (Immigration and Customs Enforcement) recent large-scale immigration raids. Many fans currently see him as a divisive figure, especially after Trump said he won’t attend the game over the halftime show.

NFL analyst Jon Root has now come out to attack Goodell, believing he is responsible for choosing Bad Bunny as the halftime performer. It came after the rapper said “ICE out!”, a reference to ICE’s recent activities and his opposition of them, while accepting his Grammy award. Many thought that this was a hateful action, and none more than Root.

He posted about the incident where he said, “Bad Bunny, who will be the Super Bowl halftime performer next week, shouted “ICE out!” while accepting his Grammy awards tonight…The NFL made a massive mistake platforming and promoting this divisive, anti-American at America’s biggest championship game”.

Goodell was previously asked about this decision, and he supported the choice of Bad Bunny. According to ESPN, he said, “It’s carefully thought through. I’m not sure we’ve ever selected an artist where we didn’t have some blowback or criticism. It’s pretty hard to do when you have literally hundreds of millions of people that are watching.”

He added, “He’s one of the leading and most popular entertainers in the world. That’s what we try to achieve. It’s an important stage for us. It’s an important element to the entertainment value.” Many fans are now attacking him for his support of the rapper after Bad Bunny’s recent anti-ICE incident at the Grammy.

A second user wrote, “That loser is a total disgrace”.

A third added, “Not a mistake. The NFL’s been captured”.

Another remarked, “I’ve been watching the NFL and my beloved Giants since 1958. This year’s Super Bowl will the the first ever I won’t be watching. Enough is enough with Roger Goodell’s Woke NFL.”

A fifth commented, “Roger goodell can kiss my grits I’m boycotting the super Bowl how about you people those who believe in president Trump boycott the super Bowl”

A sixth replied, “Roger Goodell and his clueless cronies should be fired.”

This year’s Super Bowl is certain to be an exciting one, and will see either the Patriots or the Seahawks lift the Lombardi Trophy amid the enormous political tension and controversies.
