“The Most Division Challenges That Patrick Mahomes”: Kansas City Chiefs Fans React To Shocking Statement From NFL Analyst About Upcoming 2025 NFL Season

The Kansas City Chiefs finished with a 15-2 regular season record in 2024. They went to the Super Bowl for the third straight season before losing to the Philadelphia Eagles.

At some point, the Chiefs and quarterback Patrick Mahomes may not make it back to the Super Bowl or let alone win the AFC West division. The last time that Kansas City did not win the division was in 2015 when the Denver Broncos won the division. Denver and the Los Angeles Chargers will also be improved this season and so will the Las Vegas Raiders.

ESPN’s Adam Schefter Makes Stunning Statement About the Kansas City Chiefs

On NFL Live on Thursday, ESPN’s Adam Schefter talked about the Chiefs upcoming schedule for the 2025 season. They are going to face the Chargers in Brazil in Week 1 on a Friday night. However, Los Angeles and Denver both made the playoffs along with Kansas City in 2024. Schefter said about the Chiefs entering the 2025 NFL season,

“This may just be the single toughest division and the most division challenges that Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs have faced.”

The offensive line is not the same for Kansas City. Mahomes does not have the wide receivers on the outside like he used to. It also looked like that Travis Kelce was a shell of himself and the Eagles offense exposed Kansas City’s defense in the Super Bowl. They will most likely not finish 15-2 next season, and they will be more like 12-5 or 11-6.

I could’ve sworn I’ve heard Sheftliar say this exact same thing, around this exact same time, the past 2-3 seasons. I think I’d almost rather hear what Mel Kiper’s thoughts are over this sociotrope… yeaaa nevermind, scratch that last part

ESPN the chiefs not going lose 6 games with the roster they have

Here we go again, every year these 5’7″ guys who never made a team say, this is the year that the Chargers or the Broncos take over the AFC West. Ground hog day

Said the same thing a couple of years ago. Jim harbaugh isn’t that impressive. Let’s see if bo nix can stop being Jeff George 2.0. let’s see Phillip rivers the second take the next step and the faiders still doesn’t have a QB.

I hate to defend the Chiefs but these talking heads come out every year and the Chiefs dominate that division. As long as Mahomeless is the QB they will dominate that division. Yes the refs got thier back and the way to beat them is the way the Eagles did. Raiders/Donkies/Boltsna

    — wokiedokie (@seanmichael109) May 15, 2025

There a lot of NFL fans who will be suspicious if the Chiefs go 15-2 again this season. The Chargers, Raiders, and Broncos no doubt got better. Los Angeles and Denver should be closing the gap on Kansas City. Because of this tough division alone, they probably will not be in the drivers seat for the one seed this season.

Chiefs fans can say all they want about them winning the division this season. At some point, Andy Reid and Kansas City will not be at the top of the division and good things come to an end eventually.
