There is a lot of drama going on between the Dallas Cowboys and edge rusher Micah Parsons. Parsons is entering the final year of his contract with the franchise.

He is looking for a new deal before the 2025 NFL season begins. However, it appears as if Dallas and Parsons are not close to a new contract. With this being the case, is there a chance that he does not play a down for the Cowboys during the 2025 NFL season or will he request a trade? There is also a chance he would play for Dallas without a new contract and maybe just leave the Cowboys once the season ends.
NFL Insider Drops Bombshell Report About Dallas Cowboys Contract Talks With Micah Parsons

Dianna Russini of The Athletic dropped a bombshell report on Friday morning about the latest with contract talks between the Cowboys and Parsons. Well, it appears as if things are heading down the wrong direction for both parties and she said on her Twitter page,
“BREAKING: The Micah Parsons-Cowboys relationship has deteriorated to the point where the star pass rusher is considering drastic measures which could include a trade request or even a declaration that he is severing his relationship with the team, per multiple league sources familiar with the situation. The two sides remain far apart heading into the second week of training camp, and are not currently negotiating.”
With them not negotiating, there is a chance that owner Jerry Jones is messing things up once again. He paid quarterback Dak Prescott and wide receiver CeeDee Lamb to long-term deals, but it appears as if Jones may not be able to pay everyone in this case. Could this be why Parsons has not been paid yet?
Well, it doesn’t seem like it. Parsons is the best defensive player on the Cowboys. If they were to trade him, they better get a haul for him. During the 2024 NFL season, he recorded 43 tackles, 12 sacks, two forced fumbles, and one pass deflection.
He is 26 years old and was the 12th overall pick in the 2021 NFL Draft by Dallas. With Pittsburgh Steelers T.J. Watt and Cleveland Browns Myles Garrett getting over $40 million per season in contract extensions this offseason, this is the kind of deal that Parsons is looking for. It appears as if this relationship between Parsons and the Cowboys is on thin ice. Is it also possible that Parsons never plays for Dallas again? That is something that feels like a real possibility right now.
