The Kansas City Chiefs finished with a 15-2 record in 2024 and won the AFC West once again. At some point, the Chiefs domination is going to come to an end.

Did it already end when they lost to the Philadelphia Eagles in the Super Bowl? Many people are picking either the Denver Broncos or the Los Angeles Chargers to win the AFC West this season. Some people are going as bold as the Chiefs will miss the playoffs. Truth be told, Kansas City will not be 11-0 in one possession games next season. Quarterback Patrick Mahomes did not play up to standards last season.
NFL Analyst Questions Whether or Not the Kansas City Chiefs Remain a Super Bowl Contender in the League

Ralph Vacchiano of Foxsports.com listed 20 potential teams who could be in the Super Bowl conversation this season. Well, many are wondering if Kansas City will be in the same contenders boat as some other teams. Vacchiano has the Baltimore Ravens and the Eagles in the Top 2. He has Kansas City ranked third.
“After all their close calls during the regular season last year, many thought the league was finally catching up to them. Then they found their way to yet another Super Bowl. OK, they were pounded there by the Eagles. But that just guarantees that this Andy Reid-Patrick Mahomes dynasty, now entering its eighth season, won’t be complacent. At this point, it’s safer to assume they are a championship contender until they actually, someday, show that they’re not.”
The Chiefs Super Bowl odds are +400 on FOX Sports. Well, that seems very high for a team that people think is “declining.” We will see if the decline is real this year or if the Chiefs fatigue will continue after making Super Bowl last five of seven seasons.
