With the Frisco Bowl a week away, 3 strong potential breakout players could make or break their career chances. The game is in Frisco, Texas, in Toyota Stadium, with the Boise State Broncos facing North Texas Mean Greens. In this Bowl week, the Frisco Bowl will show the country its best players in high-stakes games. The Bowl game is a potential breakout game for Boise State senior safety JL Skinner to showcase his abilities. While Boise State is bringing out a defensive star, North Texas hopes QB star Austin Aune could break out. Along with North Texas, junior QB hoping for a 2024 draft spot is Jyaire Shorter. This Frisco Bowl could be prominent for future stars in the NFL.

    JL Skinner Frisco Bowl Breakout

Boise State holds an admirable 9-4 record this college football season, even though they lost the Mountain State championship game. The Boise State Broncos are heading into Frisco with a well-rounded defensive core, with their top prospect JL Skinner. Skinner, an excellent safety prospect, could be critical in winning this bowl game for Boise State. The senior safety could impress scouts with his abilities. Along with impressing the scouts is a team in desperate need of secondary help in the NFL draft next year. JL Skinner this season for Boise State, showed that he has good tackling ability and coverages that lead to interceptions. While there is improvement needed, Skinner has a chance to be a good draft pick.

Along with becoming a potential first-round pick, Skinner shows that he can read coverages but needs improvements. There are doubts about his defensive readings from scouts, so his performance can prove them wrong. Skinner could also have great plays in the Bowl game to impress teams that could develop his skillset. While the NFL draft will be QB-heavy, teams could want him to solidify or build the defense. The Frisco Bowl game could be the breakout game for Skinner to show he is a good prospect. Skinner also proves that he wants to help Boise State win and enhance his stock. While they didn’t win the Moutain State championship, Skinner and Boise State can win the Frisco Bowl game.

    Another Potential Frisco Bowl Star?

Another name from the Frisco Bowl hoping to break out is Austin Aune, who is putting his name out. Aune, a Junior QB who has had a good season with thirty-two touchdowns and has to enter his name in the draft. Austin Aune is willing to place a bet on himself during this bowl game and hopes to show the NFL he is ready. The North Texas quarterback has shown that he can handle pressure leading the team to a 7-6 record. Aune is heading into Frisco with significant pressure and hopes to cut down the Boise State defense. If Austin Aune could beat Boise State, it could lead to teams that need QBs to pick him.

    Jyaire Shorter Chance to Breakout

Along with Austin Aune trying to break out in the Frisco Bowl game is teammate Jyaire Shorter. Shorter, a wide receiver, junior is hoping to prove he can handle the big games. There are doubts about Shorter being a threat in receiving, but he could prove them wrong next week. The college season for Shorter was good, with twenty-two receptions and five hundred yards this season. With these good stats, a great Frisco bowl game for North Texas could help Shorter with scouts. Even though the problem with Shorter is not being a prime threat could change with a great game. A breakout game for Jyaire Shorter could do well for his draft stock for a 2023 or 2024 draft.

    Where Can It All Lead?

The Frisco Bowl could be a significant game for these potential future NFL stars. While the offense has freshman stars, Boise State will have JL Skinner, a top safety prospect shine for his future. Skinner could have an outstanding defensive game where he can raise his stock for teams that need secondary help. But facing Boise State is North Texas Austin Aune, who hopes a team will like his performance at Frisco. With the NFL draft in mind, Aune hopes to impress. Jyaire Shorter, another junior of North Texas, hopes to breakout to impress scouts for a potential draft spot. Bowl season is when stars are born, and the Frisco Bowl could be the place where they can shine.
