The Cincinnati Bengals have had an eventful offseason up to this point. Cincinnati finished with a 9-8 record during the 2024 NFL season, and they just missed the playoffs.

The Bengals had one of the worst defenses in the NFL during the 2024 season. Despite it, Trey Hendrickson was one of the few bright spots on the defense. Hendrickson has one-year remaining on his contract. He has not reported to camp because of not having a new contract yet. Although, it may appear close that Cincinnati and Hendrickson may have a long-term deal.
ESPN’s Adam Schefter Provides Major Update About Cincinnati Bengals Trey Hendrickson

ESPN’s Adam Schefter went onto the Pat McAfee show on Monday afternoon to discuss the Bengals update with Hendrickson. He said about the current negotiations,
“The deal is in place for Trey Hendrickson and the Bengals but there’s a disagreement over the guaranteed money.. It’s a big disagreement so far.”
It will be interesting to see when both of these parties will agree to a deal. Will it be within the next week or will it be closer to Week 1 of the 2025 NFL season? If they are talking, it appears as if it may not be long until Hendrickson reports to camp for the Bengals.
However, Schefter also added,
“If the Bengals don’t guarantee close to two years worth of money this deal will be very slow to get done.. He isn’t coming in unless he feels comfortable with the guaranteed money.”
Shemar Stewart finally ended his contract dispute last week with Cincinnati. As for Hendrickson, they can’t afford to lose him. The 30-year-old during the 2024 season recorded 46 tackles, 17.5 sacks, two forced fumbles, and six pass deflections. He led the league in sacks during the 2024 season. Having Hendrickson potentially back on the team soon will be good news for this team. The trade rumors of him going elsewhere can almost be put to bed.
