The Cleveland Browns quarterback situation entering the 2025 NFL season is very dicey. They have four players competing for one spot.

There is a chance that Shedeur Sanders, Dillon Gabriel, Joe Flacco, and Kenny Pickett may not be the starting quarterback for Cleveland in the 2026 NFL season. Deshaun Watson is out of the plans for the long haul for the Browns. If Cleveland were to have another fourth-place finish in the AFC North in 2025, they would once again have one of the top picks in the 2026 NFL Draft. One quarterback who could be selected near the top is South Carolina Gamecocks LaNoris Sellers.
PFSN Has the Cleveland Browns Selecting Quarterback LaNoris Sellers In Latest 2025 NFL Mock Draft

Pro Football Network.com writer Mark Stolte created a three-round mock draft for 2026. He thinks that the Browns will own the second overall pick in the 2026 NFL Draft. Stolte has Cleveland selecting Sellers with that pick. In this situation with the way he created the mock draft, Sellers would be the first quarterback off the board. Stolte said,
“The Cleveland Browns are taking a gamble here on LaNorris Sellers. With all his faults, Sellers still ranked 82nd of 156 in adjusted completion percentage at 74.6% — something neither Josh Allen nor Anthony Richardson even came close to hitting as full-time starters.
With a more accurate starting point and that same freak athleticism, the Browns can risk it for the biscuit with a potentially franchise-changing pick.
If they don’t succeed? They remain in the same awful position they have been for the last two decades, but get to watch plays like this:
If anything, the Browns’ struggles should allow them to be even more risk-loving than other teams. The obvious caveat is that I can’t get fired as a fake general manager conducting a 2026 NFL Mock Draft, but Andrew Berry can.”
Sellers potentially being off the board first over players like Drew Allar, Arch Manning, Garrett Nussmeier, and Cade Klubnik would certainly be a choice for this Browns organization. Had Allar came out in the 2025 NFL Draft, Cleveland would have most likely selected him.
Sellers is 6’3″ and weighs 242 lbs. During the 2024 season with South Carolina, he completed 65.6% of his passes for 2,534 yards, 18 touchdowns, and seven interceptions. He also rushed for 674 yards on 166 carries and seven touchdowns, along with averaging 4.1 yards per carry.
If the Browns do draft the Gamecocks or any other college quarterback in 2026, it means that Flacco, Pickett, Gabriel, and Sanders did not pan out in 2025. It could also mean that Kevin Stefanski is no longer the head coach and Andrew Berry is no longer the general manager. There is a chance that if Cleveland is drafting second overall and if they do draft Sellers, it is going to be different regime altogether.
