Entering the 2025 NFL season, the Buffalo Bills were the favorites in the AFC East and one of the favorites to win the Super Bowl. Buffalo lost to the Houston Texans on Thursday night football by a final score of 23-19.

With the loss for the Bills, they drop to 7-4 on the season. As for the Texans, they improve to 6-5 on the season. Buffalo is currently sixth in the AFC and Houston for now is on the outside looking in. They are eighth in the AFC. The Bills trail the New England Patriots (9-2 record) in the AFC East. Buffalo needs to make the playoffs and go on a run or there could potentially be changes this offseason.
NFL Analyst Believes That the Buffalo Bills Need a Hard Reset

There may not be enough talent on this roster around quarterback Josh Allen. Fans are blaming both head coach Sean McDermott and general manager Brandon Beane for what is going on with the Bills at the moment.
Adam Rank of NFL Network chimed on in what’s going on in Western New York after the game on Twitter. He said, “The Bills need a hard reset. Josh Allen deserves that.” Well, it is going to depend on what happens for the rest of the 2025 NFL season.
If they magically go on a deep playoff run, then Beane and McDermott aren’t going anywhere. If they go one-and-done in the playoffs or if they miss the playoffs entirely, different conversations have to be had about this regime. Buffalo does not want to enter that possible territory. The Bills will next play against the Pittsburgh Steelers.
