The Detroit Lions have won the NFC North for the last two seasons. Detroit finished with a 15-2 record and the number one seed in the NFC a season ago.

Once again, the Lions will be the favorites to win the NFC North during the 2025 NFL season. However, it will be interesting to see how the rest of the NFC North division will potentially shape up after that. The Minnesota Vikings and the Green Bay Packers also made it to the postseason in 2024, but the Chicago Bears were in last place with a 5-12 record. Chicago hired former Lions offensive coordinator Ben Johnson as head coach to fix quarterback Caleb Williams.
Detroit Lions Columnist Makes Bold Statement About the Chicago Bears Entering the 2025 NFL Season

Bob Wojnowski, a columnist for Detroit News and talk show host on 97.1 The Ticket for Detroit, Michigan. Well, he made a statement on his Twitter page about the upcoming 2025 NFL season. Wojnowski said,
“Not sure why worried Lions fans insist the NFC North is going to be tougher. It had THREE playoff teams last year. This year, the Packers will be about the same, the Vikings will slip and the Bears will be a complete disaster, with a rookie head coach and awful Caleb Williams.”
If Chicago is terrible, it will be because of Williams. There have been a lot of bad reports of Williams coming out of training camp for the Bears. The Lions have the best quarterback in the NFC North in Jared Goff. Johnson may learn quickly that Williams is not as good as Goff is. Well, a lot of people think that the Bears will finish in last place in the NFC North and that the Lions will finish in first place in the NFC North.
Some people also think that Detroit could regress because of Johnson leaving and also defensive coordinator Aaron Glenn leaving to take the New York Jets head coaching job. However, the Lions might have the best head coach in the NFC North with Dan Campbell leading the way.
