Dallas Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo was in the NFL from 2003 to 2016. He did not win a Super Bowl during his time with the Cowboys, but some fans may argue that he was a better quarterback for Dallas than Dak Prescott currently is.

Romo won very few playoff games in his NFL career as well. He did not reach an NFC Championship Game, and this franchise hasn’t reached one since they won the Super Bowl. CBS Sports listed the Cowboys players who made the all-quarter century team.
Former Dallas Cowboys Quarterback Tony Romo Leads the Way For Being on the All Quarter-Century Team

Garrett Podell of CBS Sports created his Cowboys all quarter-century team. He created a team, and it was very interesting who was listed at each position. The only two quarterbacks who have been really good starters over the last 25 years for this franchise has been Romo and Prescott. To no surprise, both made the team, but Romo was ranked ahead of Prescott.
Podell said about Romo making the all quarter-century team for the Cowboys,
“Tony Romo leads off this list as the Cowboys’ all-time passing yards (34,183) and passing touchdowns (248) leader. He captivated Dallas’ fans with artistic footwork in the pocket before uncorking deep shots downfield like the play below against three-time NFL Defensive Player of the Year JJ Watt and the Houston Texans. Watt beat eight-time Pro Bowl left tackle Tyron Smith off the line of scrimmage, and Romo somehow spun out of his clutches to deliver a 43-yard scoring strike to wide receiver Terrance Williams in Week 5 of the 2014 season. “
“I get this clip sent to me 250 times a year from Cowboy fans.” 😅
Safe to say @tonyromo had a liiiiitle bit more fun reliving this play than @JJWatt 😭 pic.twitter.com/iWDRvcpwH5

Podell continued to add about Romo,
“The 2014 campaign was Romo’s best as he led the league in a number of metrics: completion percentage (69.9%), passing touchdown throw rate (7.8%), passing yards per attempt (8.5) and passer rating (113.2). That year ended with a thud in the NFC divisional round at Lambeau Field against his childhood team, the Green Bay Packers. Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers, the 2014 NFL MVP, converted enough first downs to bleed the final 4:42 off the clock following the infamous “Dez [Bryant] caught it” play.
Two years later in 2016, injuries cut Romo’s career short, and rookie fourth-round pick Dak Prescott took over as the Cowboys’ starting quarterback. He exploded to the scene after beginning that year as the third-string backup after being thrust into the starting role following injuries to both Romo and Kellen Moore.”
It will be interesting to see if Prescott will break Romo’s passing yards and passing touchdowns record at some point. At the moment, Prescott has 31,437 career passing yards and 213 career passing touchdowns. It is well within striking distance for both of Romo’s records to be broken. Prescott was more mobile than Romo was, but Romo was a better pocket passer than Prescott.
If someway somehow Prescott can deliver a Super Bowl to Dallas, then that will be something that he will have on his resume that Romo didn’t. However, Romo played in a much better quarterback era, and he played against much better competition in the NFL than Prescott does now and Romo could have his named called to the Pro Football Hall of Fame in Canton, Ohio one day if things bounce right for him.
